Shades Valley Dermatology

All the staff was super sweet and friendly. For years I have heard how great Dr. Flanagan was to them and Thier skin/health needs and treatment. I finally got to meet her when I needed a dermatologist. I have no words for how smoothly it is ran and professional to the point I will continue to strive to get this treatment to patients from my staff at our office the same. From check in to check out .. I do not ever hardly review offices.. but this one deserves more than this review! 100% overall from me. OH YES!! Superrrr clean!

Dr. Ives was kind however, the remaining office staff made both of my visits here unpleasant. The front desk workers treated me like I was a nuisance to them. The tech/nurse that brought me to the exam room proceeded to sit down at a computer in the room and ignore me completely and not say anything. When I went to leave, I was asked to pay close to $200 for a service that was covered with my insurance. When I tried to ask what the charges were for, I was brushed off. I later check my insurance account and found that Shades Valley did get paid by my insurance for the full amount. I received no automatic refund from SV. When I later called SV, the billing person immediately said “okay so you need a refund” like that wasn’t a surprise to her. It’s like they knew I needed the refund and knew they got paid by my insurance, but would have kept my money if I didn’t call and ask for it. That seems super predatory. I had a follow up visit where they again tried to charge me before I left. I asked them if they could just bill me with anything my insurance doesn’t cover and they said sure, no problem… like why isn’t that the standard practice to begin with. Super fishy.

I went in terrified as I had never been to a dermatologist before. I was having some moles/skin tags seen about. Dr. Ives was super sweet and we were in and out in no time. Luckily, nothing was anything abnormal but the bedside manner was welcoming and very comforting! If I could rate higher, I would!

I had an issue pop up with my face over the weekend. I was happy to get a Monday morning appointment. Dr Flanagan and her staff were very helpful and caring of my issues and provided a great treatment regiment to get me headed in the right direction.

Dr. Flanagan and her team at Shades Valley Dermatology do a fantastic job. I love their clinical approach to caring for my skin. The office runs on time and Dr. Flanagan is very through and always has time to address my concerns. Highly recommend!
