Dr. Bloom is older so he is set in his ways. However, nothing he did to me was offensive or rude or I wouldn’t have returned. I even recently just took my teenage daughter to his office. He listened to my concerns and makes it his concern. The staff were polite. That is so important to me along with good care. I cannot tolerate rude people at all. When they’re getting paid to do a job. Some people prefer long appointments. Me I like to get straight to the point as I suffer from anxiety. So I appreciate that as well. In and out. The only thing I wish would change is the insurance would cover the things that are recommend off Amazon. Because it can be difficult to get if you are like myself, not working. However the medication, Dr. Bloom prescribed that was covered helped me and my daughter tremendously. Thank you Dr. Bloom and staff🎗️
I went to Dr. Bloom for sudden, extreme hair loss that I’ve been experiencing over the last two months. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing and unhelpful. I arrived on time for my appointment but had to wait 45 minutes before being seen. When Dr. Bloom finally came in, he spent less than three minutes speaking with me. His first question was, “Hair loss, huh? What’s your theory?” If I knew what was happening, I wouldn’t be seeing a doctor in the first place. I came prepared with photos, my medical history, and concerns, including scalp redness and inflammation. Dr. Bloom did not examine my scalp at all. He didn’t touch or even look closely at the affected areas. The only thing he did was glance at a few strands of shed hair under a microscope without explaining what he saw. Instead of thoroughly assessing my condition, he asked me if I knew about “Amazon.com” and what my job was, which was completely irrelevant to my medical concerns. Then, he casually suggested I buy saw palmetto oil and minoxidil but didn’t explain how to use them or whether they were appropriate for my specific case. The oil he recommended seems very shady, as I later found discrepancies between the ingredients listed on the packaging and the box. When I asked about possible causes, he said he doesn’t know but that it doesn’t seem hormonal based on bloodwork I had three months ago, even though my hair loss started two months ago. I specifically asked him for a bloodwork panel, and he dismissed it, saying, “That’s not important.” I also mentioned a mishap where a hairdresser left color in my hair for too long, but he didn’t comment on whether that could be a factor. Instead, he referred me to another specialist with a four-month waiting list while I’m already developing bald spots. I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and deeply frustrated. Dr. Bloom was rude, unprofessional, and uninterested in genuinely helping me. He barely listened, let alone performed a thorough evaluation. I regret wasting my time and money on this visit, and I do not recommend this doctor to anyone seeking real answers or compassionate care.
Great service and care. Doctor and staff are friendly. I felt really cared for and would recommend anyone and everyone to come in. They got a wide variety of services. Doesn't hurt to call and check
Went in for a routine skin screening. Wanted to discuss a few particular topics and some moles. Was not even asked “what are in you in for and what would like to talk about”. Since this was my first ever visit I figured we would talk more about family history and discuss other practicalities. None of that. We covered the moles but it was so superficial I almost laughed. I guess they look fine - great. But what should I be looking for? I asked some questions to try and make it a little more conversation and thought we would get into more of a debrief at the end… but I guess not. Just a handout flyer on some info. I guess it got the job done, but I was expecting more of a conversation and learning discussion. It felt rather superficial and quick. Maybe chalk this up to different communication styles. I don’t know. It just felt odd. Not sure this is the office for me.
The appointment was for my mother who was desperate to find relief for her chronic itch. She left the office with a huge smile and believes she finally found someone who will help her. Dr. Bloom is knowledgeable, patient and a great listener. His office staff are also very nice and professional. While the office is simple, the service and communication are top notch!
