Dermatology & Laser of Del Mar

I’d been to this office once because I was referred by my dermatologist. I had a treatment and it went fine. I recently called to ask about pricing of another service and was told “we don’t give out pricing to people we don’t know”. That’s a direct quote. When I said I was a patient there, I was told I’d still need to come in for a consult. I don’t like that they’d ask people to waste their time for something that may be out of budget. That’s crappy and a little suspicious. And the attitude was bizarre. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere for sure.

Damn she's good! Dr. Atkins is smart, knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate. The entire staff mirrors this model making each appointment a pleasure. I have had a variety of treatments done, ranging from hair removal, surgical scar treatments, and various lasers for the texture and tone of my face. She's got it all!! I only wish I started visiting her practice sooner.

This office is great! Rachel, the PA, is through and knowledgeable. The staff is amazing, Lita is so caring and follows up promptly.

I've been a patient of Dr. Atkin for over 20 years and she and her office staff are wonderful. I see her for both medical and cosmetic dermatology issues and she is very competent and caring. I wouldn't consider seeing any other dermatologist. Most recently I've had Thermage for eyes and Ultherapy for face and neck. The results for both exceeded my expectations. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of both procedures and am so glad I had them done. One reason I value Derm & Laser of Del Mar is because Dr. Atkin performs procedures herself. At many "med spas" procedures are performed by staff and never by a physician. I trust Dr. Atkin's recommendations regarding which options will work best for me. There have been times when she said, "You won't get the result you want unless you have surgery." And she was right. She's also been correct when recommending in-office procedures. I've never been disappointed with anything she recommended.

Unprofessional front office staff and they actually lie! So I saw a video on tik Tok that said they treated a certain gland in the face with Botox......the gland was circled in the video and not the masseters. A lady called me lying saying that it wasn't the doctor in the video and was a man Dr that had offered the service and left! It was the woman doctor. And she tried to tell me the Botox was in the masseter and it wasn't. She got mad and said well I can just cancel your appointment. Lady ofcourse! I will never trust a person,a medical office that lies and tries to tell me what I didn't see when we all saw it! She could have just said our Dr no longer offers the service. Which is a truth and short and sweet. Why lie and be combative?
