I’ve been seeing Kiera for a couple years now, and have nothing but great experiences! She’s very thorough, understanding and patient. I had my first skin biopsy with her and I was pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy it was. Thank you!
I turned 65 so I have Medicare now and taking care of some things. I had some funky skin things and luckily not serious. My appointment was with Dr. Ambur. He is professional and informative also cheerful. Everyone in the office is amazing. From the time I walked in to the time I left was about 30 minutes. Pro tip: Go online and complete all the new patient information. It saves time in the office. Thank you everyone!
To be clear this one-star review is strictly for the front office/scheduling staff. My dermatologist is 5 stars across the board The scheduling staff at this office have exactly zero respect for their patient’s time. Even if you schedule an appointment first thing in the morning there is still a 10–15 minute wait. I don’t know if they think all their patients are retired or independently wealthy but newsflash we are not. Some of us take time off work to come to these appointments. Some of us utilize the precious little paid sick time we have to cover said cost of taking time off work to come to these appointments. Yesterday, I had an appointment at 3:10. I also had another appointment 15 minutes away at 4:00 P.M. Knowing on average my dermatologist spends about 20 minutes with me, I even allotted 15 minutes for them to be running behind. At 3:18 I asked the gentlemen at reception how far behind she was running because I had another appointment. His bedside manner was that of rude indifference – he checked a clipboard said I was next and that’s all he could tell me (I guess the front office is incapable of leaving their desk to perhaps getting a real time update on the wait from the doctor’s assistant?) and then told me I could stay or leave, it was my choice. How dare I expect a provider to run on time? I was taken back three minutes later. I let the assistant know I now had to leave this appointment in 24 minutes, she apologized and said she would go talk to the doctor and advised me to get undressed. As soon as I was completely undressed, she came in to say the doctor would not be able to get away from the other patient within that time frame so I immediately had to redress. The icing on the cake? Then having to pay for parking! Unfortunately, I will no longer be continuing care at this office. The reason my doctor runs behind every visit is because she actually spends real time with her patients to address their needs and concerns while her office staff schedule under the philosophy of how many patients can you cram into one day under one provider (i.e. $$$$). If she even spends five extra minutes with a patient or has to do a biopsy, it affects the rest of her day. So disappointed in a health care office that prioritizes dollars over patients and their time.
If I could give a 0 star review I would. Beware of this place of business. I went in to get a consultation for a cosmetic procedure. This review is about the dishonesty of the money that you will pay and not be told about it AFTER the visit as you are checking out. I made an appointment and when I arrived I paid a $40 co-pay. Ok I know about this and am fine with it. However after my visit and I was leaving the receptionist wanted me to wait. While she was scrambling around asking a couple of girls in the back about something she came back and said that I owed $149.00 for the consultation! Needless to say I was shocked. I never was told about this nor did I sign anything about paying a consultation fee let alone $149.00 consultation fee. To be honest HAD I known about this high fee I would not have gone there. Coastal skin and eye institute is a deceiving place of business. I would stay away from this place unless you want to pay for something they do not tell until after the fact.
My mom came for Botox with Helen and she asked her to please make sure that she avoids the eyes to prevent drooping since she had recently gotten eyelid lift surgery. She disregarded her request and her eyes ended up drooping quite a bit. She went back to get it fixed and Helen wouldn’t allow injecting a certain area to help lift the eye because it’s considered a different area and wanted to charge more for her mistake. her eyelids dropped even more after this attempted fix and my mom reached out via email with no response from anyone. They are very unprofessional and will avoid you instead of making sure you are happy. She spent thousands on a surgery for their injector to reverse it all within minutes. My mom has been very depressed about it and I do not recommend this place. They also charge per area instead of unit which is a huge waste of money, don’t waste your time here.
