Skin and Cancer Institute - Modesto

I have been waiting for nearly two hours to be seen. That’s unexpected. Not sure how I can get my time back but I highly recommend this part of the experience be addressed. I am not the only person to experience this and while I hate to give 1 stars, it’s definitely accurate for the situation. I am hopeful that there will be improvement ahead based on a conversation I had with a very sweet physician assistant.

The Skin and Cancer Institute provides excellent care. My family needed to see a dermatologist as soon as possible, but the large conglomerate health center that provides our GP needs was booked out over 8 months ahead. Explained the situation at the institute and they worked us in within a few days. Have now been here twice and very satisfied.

The staff was kind and efficient. Our PA Wong was amazing. The wait was horrible. I had an 8am apt, they didn't unlock the doors until 8, and I wasn't seen until 845. My son had an 815 apt, was there with me at 8, and wasn't seen until 915.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that the way they have things set up is that the half hour I spent filling out my medical information and history ahead of time online was virtually wasted because it doesn’t go to the staff so they asked me all the same questions again, and I couldn’t remember all the answers. This is the 21st-century, so the information I filled out should be available to the staff immediately

The staff was nice but I waited a very long time. I was in the waiting area from around 2:35 until finally being called back at about 3:55. Then in the exam room from 4:00 to about 4:15 until dermatologist seen me. It was warm and uncomfortable. Overall good staff but it took a alot longer than I expected.
