Originally wanted to see Dr. Chan but was told she’s not taking new patients/she performs more procedures these days. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Vaccaro for scalp/hair concerns and left entirely unimpressed. Huntington Dermatology is on the 4th floor of the hospital and it’s easy to get lost so just follow the signs. Budget extra time to find street parking if you don’t want to pay for the hospital lot (they don’t validate). The waiting room was stuffy. Facility seems outdated but clean enough. All the staff I interacted with was brusque and busy. The appointment came and went - I love paying $150 for a 10 minute conversation. US healthcare, baby! Even then, I felt like Dr. Vaccaro was addressing the bare minimum and wanted me out of the exam room as soon as possible. I went for scalp/hair concerns and he didn’t even bother to take a look at my head until I asked him to. I felt like I was getting seen by a robot. And on the topic of bedside manner, his assistant (RN, NP, PA?) had none. She had a list of questions and ignored everything else that was off script, including my follow up questions. Not sure if this was a one-off experience but I felt like I got seen by robots, it was all very bizarre. Hope you have a better experience, but I’ll probably try another office next time.
If you’ve wasted your time at a med spa come here for a truly knowledgeable staff for all your skin care concerns. You really get your value for the nominally more you might pay. A doctor actually looking at your skin prior to procedures and available at the time of treatment in case the nurse practitioner has any questions for them.
I came here because my friend highly recommended Dr Chan for a mole removal. I called them initially and she was booked many months ahead, initially she was not available until May, then when I called back a month later she wasn't available until August. I decided to proceed with a Nurse Practitioner to schedule a first consultation. I had a quick appointment that lasted about 10 minutes. She didn't tell me anything new, she said she would consult with Dr Chan and then they would give me a call back on how to best proceed. I waited for a month, no call followed. Then I called them back and I've been told that I was advised to come for follow up appointments every 3-6 months and that it is only for the consultation (again), that would not even be the actual procedure. And when I asked about Dr Chan's availability, I've been told she isn't available till May and that I would have to do the pre-consultation first, before any procedure with her (so to go back to NP). The receptionist was rude and at the end when I said I'd think about it, she said 'OK, bye'. For the prices they are charging, the level of service is 1/5. The receptionist didn't say anything about me not hearing back after a month but rather sounded annoyed and did not apologize whatsoever. Dr Chan might be good in what she does, but in order to even to get to her, you have to go through a series of unnecessary steps with a lot of wasted time. Highly unpleasant experience. Hopefully they improve their service in future.
I don’t like showing up here because that usually means there’s something wrong with me. I’ve gone for a few relatively minor issues. When I do go, I go to Dr Vagaro(Vaccaro?). I trust his judgment/work and I don’t think he minds the loaded questions im prepared to ask. It’s usually a quick appointment, but he gets the job done. My latest visit I was charged less than the initial range they quoted me over the phone, though no procedure was done that day and was only prescribed meds. Either way, it’s appreciated. The front desk was decent towards me, so I guess I caught them on a good day, per everyone’s reviews. Would recommend! Oh and there’s a new financing option available for those of us poor folk (on medical ), which is nice.
Sharonda is amazing! I fully trust her skill & expertise for my Botox injections. She takes the time to listen to your major areas of concern, what results you are hoping for, and then makes recommendations to ensure the results are in line with what is realistic and what you want. I highly recommend Sharonda. You'll love her and your results will speak volumes for themselves.
