Santa Barbara Skin Institute

I am 83 years old. I was a lifeguard in my college days. I was a mountain climber and skier into my 70's. I spent 60 days a year above 10,000 feet for over 20 years! Solar radiation was not my friend! The Santa Barbara Skin Institute (Solvang Office) is the second dermatology group that I have used since moving to the central coast four and 1/2 years ago. When you are older than 65, you typically see physician assistants instead of doctors. DR. ORTIZ is the first actual dermatology doctor to check me out since I moved to Santa Maria. She is the most thorough and careful dermatologist that I have had. She explains my skin conditions and listens to my questions. She exudes confidence and makes me certain that nothing is missed!

There's no one like her. Extraordinary skills, intellect, personality, and patient care make her singular in skin surgery and aesthetic treatment.
