Alta Vista Dermatology

Alta Vista saw my elementary aged daughter today. The check in process was easy and quick. The provider Kristina was very friendly and I like how she addressed my daughter and me. She explained our options clearly and helped us make a good decision. It was a good appointment overall and I’m hopeful well be happy with the results.

Setting up a meeting, the appointment, and receiving medications were great. But, they asked I get a test done which I did. They want me to call them so they can share the results with me and prices from there. I’ve called several times and no one is ever there to answer my calls. I’ve tried calling morning, noon, afternoon. I always get a voicemail saying they’ll call me back by the end of the day which they never do. It always takes them 2-3 days to return my call. I can’t sit by my phone during work so I call them back when I see I’ve missed a call. This just repeats the cycle of not being able to get in contact with anyone. I’ve asked they leave the details in a voicemail or just email me which they’ve refused to do. I’ve given up on working with them. It’s too bad they don’t have an online portal for communicating and viewing results. Or if they do, they’ve never informed me of this.

The staff is kind, courteous, and quick. Checking in is super easy as they make sure that you are prepared well before the appointment (and even if you aren’t they can get you setup really quick). The physicians that I had an appointment with were friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate of what needed to be done and how it should be done. Looking forward to my follow up visit in a few weeks I have all the faith and confidence that I am in the right hands to get the best results possible.

I had an appointment scheduled for 2:45. I was not admitted to the room until 3:15. Meanwhile, at least 5-8 other people showed up and were promptly taken to their rooms. Just as I was about to ask if I had been forgotten someone called my name. I spent 3-4 minutes with them in the room going over what I needed, as well as basic vital and info. I was told to disrobe and someone would be with me shortly. The room was cold but I figured no big deal, it would be fast to have a basic check up. 45 minutes later, no one had entered the room. When someone did come in, there seemed to be a massive miscommunication and I was told they did forget about me because another procedure lasted longer than they expected. Once the physician and aide were in the room, they were professional and effectively accomplished what I needed. However, this experience has guaranteed I will not be returning and I will be an active detractor when I hear others in my community need a dermatologists appointment.

I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment with Dr. Burch and her team! Extremely thorough and personable! Excited to bring the rest of my family back to see her!
