I can't say enough good about my visit to Boulder Dermatology. From the warm welcome by Amber at the front desk, the empathy and compassion around my anxiety by Kenna the tech, to the quick, compassionate and painless treatment from Rachel the PA, this was one of the easiest and most pleasant medical visits I've ever had.

Short version: Shady billing practices and rude employees; these dermatologists won’t do skin cancer screenings (but they WILL do them, they just will bill you for something else entirely). Isn’t skin cancer prevention one of the primary areas a dermatologist would focus on? Long version: In spring 2024 I made an appointment with Dr Waite at Boulder Dermatology’s Louisville location. When I called to make the appointment, I requested a “skin cancer screening” and mentioned that as of this year, my health care plan now covers this service at 100% with no deductible. The receptionist agreed this was great news and proceeded to make the appointment while also gathering my insurance details. In June 2024, I had the skin cancer screening appointment, and during this visit I mentioned to the receptionist and to Dr Waite about this new benefit and they all agreed this was a great opportunity to get a skin cancer screening covered with their office. Not one single person during any of these interactions mentioned that their office will not bill their patient’s insurance with “preventative codes” they will only use “specialist codes.” About two months later, I received a bill for over $200 for this appointment. I figured this must be a mistake, but after a significant amount of time chasing down their office manager I was told quite rudely and matter-of-factly that they would not update how I was being billed and that they have the right to bill be for a new patient visit and that if I wanted to get preventive treatment for skin cancer that I should see my primary care provider for this service. Well – this office policy wasn’t shared once with me in any of my previous interactions. Now I have the financial burden of paying $200 out of pocket unexpectedly. The office staff are completely unprofessional in how they handle their business. I will not be returning as a patient to Boulder Dermatology and would insist you look elsewhere to work with a doctor’s office that is more honest in their billing practices.

I have been going to doctors and PAs at this Louisville office for over 20 years for skin cancer checks and several MOHS surgeries for skin cancer removal. They are professional, kind, and know their stuff. Highly recommended!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. She was the most dismissive, incompetent dermatologist I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. I will never come here again.

Went in for a normal skin check. Had a callus on the bottom of my foot I could have picked off myself. Doc asked if she wanted me to have her try and scrape it off, I said sure. To my surprise that appeared as an additional $140 on my bill, not covered by insurance of course. Tried following up with the office, got handed around different lines and extensions, spoken to rudely. Told to call back in a few days if I hadn't heard back. I did. Told I was out of luck. I felt that was very dishonest of them and did not inform me that it would be an additional charge. Doctor is nice, DO NOT RECCOMEND THOUGH BASED ON BILLING AND FRONT STAFF. If there are any billing issues you are screwed
