In the past this office hasn't gotten back to me generally in a timely amount of time. They also will not make an appointment without paying upfront if, even if you're worried about a growth that has changed over time, you have other growths previously seen.
The staff is super nice and Dr Correale was kind and efficient; it was a quick appointment once I got into the room. BUT My main complaint is the bill; wait time was an issue as well. I was informed by my insurance that they start charging you as soon as you walk into the waiting room. I got to my appointment a few minutes early thinking I was doing the right thing; turns out I screwed myself. I sat in the waiting room for over 30 minutes. They charged me over $300 before insurance. My bill was still around $218 after. They claimed I was there for about 45 minutes to an hour which was ridiculous. I was in the examination room for less than 10 minutes. All the dermatologist did was flash a light on my skin and told me I have rosacea, prescribed a topical cream, pill and gave me expired samples. lol. I was surprised at the bill and didn’t believe it should’ve been that much. I called to ask if it had been coded improperly, but they said no that it was coded correctly. I paid it off because what choice did I have? I took my time paying it off too; I was very frustrated.
The people were nice. Wait was long but I dont' even mind that. I had an issue with my nails. Splinter hemorrhages. Waited for 45 min but she saw me for MAYBE 7 or 8 minutes max. Prescribed ointment which at Costco was only $2--great! But then I got their bill & it was ASTRONOMICAL. $305 before insurance and $225 after. They had told me to make a follow up appt at the time and I DID. I immediately canceled the appt when I saw the ridiculous bill charge. Eight minutes for $305. Insane. So I was not going to go back and get charged an add'l $305 for 4 minutes for them to tell me my nails are healing...AND then I go to pay on the website and there is a $7 site fee for paying on the site. No thanks.. Hate getting nickeled and dimed. I will pay 55 cents for a stamp and they can wait 7 business days. This is why people with serious health problems dont' go to the doctor. I will not be returning to these folks. My daughter needs a dermatologist and we will be going elsewhere.
Very disappointed with a visit to this group. Besides waiting over an hour to be seen...which makes sense as to why we were given a quick appointment compared to other practices...they have horrible communication with patients. Instead of calling us about results of a biopsy in a timely manner they send a letter 2 months later stating they cant get a hold of us! There was a lot of phone tagging going on. Ridiculous! BUT when I call to have the records transferred to another doctor they immediately answer me and mail a letter of withdrawal from our care!!! ARe you KIDDing ME????? THE WORST!
I have never been treated so poorly by a receptionist. My 90 year old Mother had an appointment here for a possible cancer lesion and was turned away without being seen after waiting months for an appointment. Apparently, they did not ask the question about her insurance before they booked us. It took two hours for me to transport her to the appointment (one way). They do not accept patients with Medicare and a CT silver card because they get paid less. This is elder abuse! I offered to pay cash, but also a “no”. I suggested they change their booking procedure to ask about insurance and was told that is the 90 year old’s responsibility. Are you kidding me???
