Both receptionist are extremely rude. We were four minutes late getting there because of traffic. They let the patient after us go in and then told us that we would mess up the Doctor schedule for the whole day that we would have to reschedule. Meanwhile, we were told to come in because an infection in a wisdom tooth to take care of until the dentist could see us. Even after asking nicely if we could be seen next she said no because that will throw the doctors schedule off well maybe you shouldn’t have taken the 9 o’clock appointment in at 8:45. We got there four minutes late. Extremely rude and if you ask me racist. Hopefully, we can always get in at the North Haven office where everyone is pleasant and caring. I would love for a supervisor to know how rudely we were treated. Meanwhile, the waiting room was completely empty. I understand people need to be on time being a half hour away. We were delayed by four minutes. And I honestly think if he wasn’t of Hispanic descent, they wouldn’t have given him a problem. You can tell when people are judgmental. And racist it’s all over their faces
They charge $20 copay for annual health screening, which is 100% covered by the insurance. Also, the average waiting time is over 45 min and the worst case was over 1 hour! They did not respect patients' time and abused their policy to charge fees!
Sick for over a week and not getting better I phoned my physician on Saturday morning only to learn they no longer had Saturday hours and LUCKILY I was referred to CareMedica. To my absolute amazement, they responded to me, conducted a telemed visit, and prescribed treatment. I could not have asked for anything better. Without hesitation, I would recommend them highly!!!
DO NOT GO TO CAREMEDICA IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE AND WELLBEING. I was taken off my medication and told to go to Yale ER by Krizel Presta due to the fact she no longer wanted to prescribe my anti anxiety medication. Stoping benzodiazepines cold turkey can lead to seizures and death, but she was not concerned. I spent 3 days in the Yale ER fearing for my life and being the sickest I have ever been. If a PA wants you off a medication, you need to be taken down very slowly, but she did not care to do that either. She simply brushed me off to the ER, and now I suffer from PTSD because of how ill I became and the very poor treatment I received at Yale. I was on ant anxiety medication for years before I started working with Krizel Presta, and she continued them for another 2 years. She informed me that I needed to find a psychiatrist and I was not able to find one quick enough, so she simply refused to continue prescribing them and sent me to the ER when she knew I have a child and a terminally ill mother to care for. This happened in August, and I just received an email yesterday stating that she is terminating my care before I can establish care with a new provider. For those who do not know, legally this is referred to as “patient abandonment” (a form of malpractice) As she has now left me without medical care when I have several underlying health conditions that need to be monitored. This practice is not cut out for individuals with serious medical conditions, as they simply do not want to be bothered. Please put your health first and find a trustworthy physician who will not discharge you for the smallest of reasons. You can easily look up what meets the requirements for patient discharge, but these are the reasons my attorney informed me of: Being uncooperative. Not keeping appointments and not showing up for appointments. Not paying your bill. Disruptive behavior. Threatening providers or staff. Violence. Criminal activity. Theft. Sexual misconduct. I certainly did NOT fall into any of these categories. She very simply did not want to be bothered to do the right thing and take her oath of “Do No Harm” seriously. I trusted Ms. Presta and genuinely thought of her as a friend, and her actions were beyond hurtful and made me feel abandoned and betrayed. And I must add that Rebecca, another PA, should NEVER be working with sick and vulnerable people, as her bedside manner is deplorable!! I saw her once and that was enough for me. Do not take the risk of becoming a patient of CareMedica..
My husband recently passed away and I moved with our two young daughters from Tennessee back home to Wallingford, CT to be with family. CareMedica was the first place I found and I’m so glad I went with them. Dr. Ramirez and staff were so welcoming and friendly. The wait time was very minimal. Dr. Ramirez was very thorough and took care of all of my medical needs. His bedside manner was top notch. I’m thrilled to have found such a great doctor’s office.
