First impression went poorly. The way I was greeted was unwelcoming, the way I heard one of them them speak to a client over the phone was very rude and unkind, and they forgot I was even there! I went in 20 min early to fill out 10 minutes worth of paperwork, it was so slow in there, nothing was going on. I even saw a client go back and then leave, and I continued to wait to be called. It was pushing an hour when I asked what was going on, and then they asked for someone to see me. It took an additional 5 minutes. I didn’t even get to be seen because I felt uncomfortable at that point like I was forcing them or something. I didn’t think I was going to get adequate care at that point.
The PA who saw me, Lauren Hartman, told me the large bump above my eyebrow was an osteoma and would be too risky of a procedure to ever remove. She was so confident in her diagnosis when I questioned it. 6 months later I found out it was a lipoma from a plastic surgeon who examined it and said it was super easy to tell. He was shocked that anyone would think it’s an osteoma. I even got a ct scan to confirm and yes, it’s a lipoma. Getting it removed this month and the PS said it’s an easy procedure. I could have gone my whole life thinking it was an unremovale osteoma, luckily my wife life kept pushing me to get a second opinion. What’s worse is, Advanced Dermatology keeps harassing me to pay a $35 bill, threatening to send it to collections. Leave me alone, I already payed you and have called multiple times telling you this!! If anything you should be refunding me. Avoid this place, there’s a reason they always have availability.
They are always very accessible to work on my schedule. And I've been to many different offices, 2 in Florida and one in Colorado. So they are nationwide and you're records travel with you
*THIS* is the model of how a medical practice should operate. I knew it was a fluke that I was able to get a next-day appointment, even as a new patient. (I'm guessing there was a cancellation.) Still, my previous experience with dermatologists kept my expectations low. In other words, I expected a long wait, even with the first appointment of the day. My appointment was at 8:30a, I was on my way home less than 20 minutes later. Dr. Wentworth was the most pleasant doctor I've ever met. Her exam was thorough, as were her explanations of a suspicious mole (which she excised for biopsy). Her staff were equally amazing, both friendly AND efficient. There were no questions or hassles about a secondary insurance, and the registration process was a breeze. I would give double the stars, if possible.
This review is an addition to my last review, so continue to read. Even though I was told in a call with the office manager the referenced bill was not due and would be backed out and it is clear there are communications somewhere within this company is not happening. Today, I received an email and a text telling me the open invoice will be turned over to a collection agency against me. I realize it is only $35 but this is a charge I have been told is not valid. Even though the practice is good, the operations of their billing division is not. I have a message left for office manager to return my call. This is what I emailed back to their billing department today following their attempt to collect: -- Felicia, Office Manager, at Boynton Beach office told this charge is not valid. I am expecting a call back today from her as a result of this notice. Should you turn this to a collection agency, you will hear from an attorney from my end. This was a billing error from your companies end, not mine, which has not been resolved. Thank you Peter Kandell ------------------------------------------------------------------------ First off want to be clear that I really like the Dr Wentworth and the physicians assistants at this office but am doing a review on their billing department as well lack of response from messages left for the office manager. I have been going to Advanced Dermatology in another State for over 15 years and in past years now Boynton Beach. I went for an office visit on February 13th and they were out of their freezing chemicals and could not complete the process and asked me to come back the next day for what took a few minutes. In first visit I paid the co-pay of $35 and got billed for the second visit the next day. Their front desk when I received the bill told me I did not owe it since it was part of the day priors visit but had to talk to manager. I have called their billing office who said I need to clear this up with the office. My attempts have been unsuccessful since I continue to get reminders of owing this charge. Without a phone call back from the office manager I cannot get this resolved so that is why I am putting in this review with the hope that someone will respond and back out this charge. Thank you
