I went to The Refinery from a social media ad (which is unusual for me) to give it a try and I am SO glad I did! It's worth the drive from south St Pete - facility is wonderful and the staff is even better. Treat yourself to one of their services - you won't be disappointed! Highly recommend. Also attend one of their events - that too was worth it!
If I could I would give negative 5 stars, I just visited this location for the first time right before Christmas and had Botox administered in my forehead area, crows feet and the injector suggested by my mouth / chin area (I told her I’ve never had it done there) she said it would really help my face, and that she’s done it hundreds of times and she’s “experienced” so I agreed. As soon as I left I had welts all over my face, it was painful and swollen ( I’ve been getting Botox for years and that has NEVER happened) so I went home and followed directions not to exercise or lay down for 8 hours I even set a timer. The next day I woke up and the welts, inflammation, feeling of being sick and tired were still present (again this has never happened in 10 years of getting Botox) I wrote them an email because it was the weekend and they were closed and Taylor texts me back stating that this is normal and it should go away. I’m having really bad symptoms so I get an appointment with an actual doctor who tells me to drink Benadryl every 6 hours and go to an emergency room immediately if I experience shortness of breath. For the past 3 weeks I’ve called and emailed ( 3 times) requesting for a call back from the owner as this ruined my Christmas and new years and not only did I not receive a call back but this place blocked my number!!!!! I can barely talk as the Botox administered around my mouth has left it pulled and super uncomfortable but I still have the bumps were the Botox was administered on my forehead! I don’t know what product was used or how it was injected but any reputable business would have returned the call request for the owner. All I had was Taylor getting snippy because I preferred advice from a actual doctor rather than someone who works at this location. I have proof of all of what I’m stating, the text message’s and the picture I attached. This isn’t a review from a competitor or some fake post please be careful not only did I have a medical problem but I’m being ignored and blocked so they obviously don’t stand behind their business .
I love the refinery. Thelma is wonderful and caring about your face. I am so happy and grateful to have her. She is the best aesthetician. Diane is a very special person. She is always friendly and helpful. The Refinery is awesome and I am thankful for all that work there. I am going to get my mom to come here. I love my treatments so far and it only gets better!! Thank you Thelma and the Refinery!!! This is only my second treatment and my skin has tightened already and my husband already sees a difference. He never pays attention to my face so I know it’s making a huge difference!!! I can’t wait until my next treatment. I will be a customer forever and other treatments.
I made my appointment through the website and asked about their special and how many units of Botox that I could use with the special price, and I was told for as many as I use in my visit. I get there and they told me no, that it was only for 20 units, I had shown them my text with my information and appointment confirmation, and they would not honor the price that I was given. They said they hire a marketing company, and the marketing company messed up. They hired the marketing company, and it is bad business practice to have a company that you hired tell you a price and you do not honor it. I was a business owner, and I would have honored a price that someone I hired told my customer. They were all nice people, but it shouldn't be my fault that a mistake was made on their end.
I went and had 20 units of Botox and I made a follow up appointment and when they asked me if I wanted to tip, I declined I never tip nurse practitioner or doctor when it was time for my next appointment. I called them because they didn’t give me a reminder and they said I didn’t have an appointment And member very clearly. I wanted to give myself a gift day before my birthday. I did have an appointment but I went ahead and made another one for July 4 and I asked specifically if they were open on that day since it was a holiday they said they were , and I went ahead and made an appointment and I called before and they were closed it confirmed my suspicion because I didn’t tip her the first time they would not see me ever again. I feel very discriminated against these people are prejudiced and close minded and very unprofessional. I hope the person was in charge. Will read this and make some adjustments in your office.
