I cannot recommend Dr. Yates highly enough! She performed my breast reduction with a lift and side liposuction, and I am absolutely in love with the results. From the very first consultation, I knew Dr. Yates was the perfect choice. Her warmth, professionalism, and deep expertise immediately put me at ease. Dr. Yates is not only incredibly skilled but also genuinely kind and compassionate. She took the time to address all my questions and concerns, ensuring I felt confident and informed every step of the way. Her attention to detail and dedication to her craft are truly unmatched. I’m not one to write reviews unless I feel others would find them useful as a public service announcement. To start off, I specifically chose the Yates Institute because of all the positive reviews referencing women having breast reductions covered by their insurance, which was my situation given back pain. On this front, I felt the institute did a good job in handling the insurance approval — one star for that. The second star is because I think Dr. Yates did a good job with the surgery & I’m fine with the results, which have lessened my back pain. Everything else that had to do with my experience with Yates was terrible — the pre op, post op, dismissal of concerns, condescension, and lack of guidance. I read every piece of information they gave me yet during the pre/post-op appointments, Dr. Yates would patronizingly ask if I had read any of the materials, which I said I had but still had questions. My concerns of an infection post-op were repeatedly dismissed despite having every sign of an infection (I ultimately consulted my PCP as Dr. Yates downplayed my pain and told me that I worry too much). After repeated calls and texts, Dr. Yates agreed to see me and prescribed antibiotics, which cleared the infection right up. Lastly, if you do decide to proceed with Dr. Yates, be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes for a 2 minute appointment. I was constantly told she was running behind, which is understandable, but the lack of respect for the patient’s time is egregious when it happens at every single appointment. The worst being a virtual call I waited for 2.5hrs instead of them just rescheduling me…

Dr Essie Yates is the best. I will recommend her to anyone that is looking to make a difference on their body like me, I had back pain because of large breast. She listen to what you need and suggest the best option for you. The staff always answer you back when you reach out for any questions or concerns . I had a great experience from my first visit until after surgery. The best decision I had made was to get my breast reduction with Dr Essie Yates. I’m forever grateful for her great job and passion that she put for what she does. She is the best.

The Yates Institute of Plastic Surgery 10/10 recommend! Dr. Yates herself is AMAZING! Detailed, attentive, and caring. All the boxes you want to check for a plastic surgeon, she checks them! Her office staff is like family, very inviting and welcoming as well. Everyone is responsive and will ensure you have what you need. I’m glad I kept searching and found Dr. Yates via a colleague who gave me her name, because from the day I met her at the consultation visit (being this was my second plastic surgery consult), I just knew she would be my surgeon; and it’s a decision I do not regret! Dr. Yates tailors her care to each patient and ensures you are satisfied and comfortable before moving forward. I had a breast reduction in January and I am in love with my results (to include how my scar has healed) ! Dr. Yates and her staff made sure I was prepared pre-surgery, day of surgery, and provided follow up care post surgery to ensure the results and healing was going as expected. Family members are even impressed and ask me who was my surgeon. Her work speaks for itself! I can go on…. But I rather you visit her yourself! Thinking of any procedure, ladies…. Call Dr. Yates!

Dr Yates is incredible! I have been a breast cancer survivor since 2019 and lived 3 years with a sad reconstruction after my double mastectomy. Now, all has changed for me. I searched for a surgeon with care for the women in this community. Dr Yates is empathetic and gifted. She has given me so much beauty with my new breasts. I am no longer living with bitterness from cancer and I feel like myself again. Dr Yates is my miracle worker! • I must also mention that the staff is a lovely unit. Omi at the desk running the front of the office is the first face you see & she is kind and nurturing. Taylor, Dr Yates nurse made me feel seen comfortable and cared for every step of the way. I learned things this time around that I was never knew in my previous surgeries. They have taught me how to heal. My healing has been much swifter and easier as well. 10/10 Recommend
