I drove out of my way to make it to my first appointment with this practice, but I was told after I arrived that my appointment was already canceled because I did not complete the preliminary paperwork through the portal. I showed the receptionist every text message and email I received from the practice, none of which stipulated that I needed to complete any paperwork or other action before my appointment besides replying to the text message to confirm. I 100% understand that these kinds of policies are necessary, and I have adhered to them with other medical practices that have clearly stated them as such in their email and/or text message correspondence. However, as mentioned earlier, there was not a single indication in the emails or text messages I received from this practice that I needed to complete these tasks (paperwork, early sign-in, etc.) before my appointment or before a certain deadline. I showed these messages and emails to the receptionist and they realized that it was not communicated (and that the patient portal was not working, so I could not even access that), but still stated that the provider would not be able to see me and we would need to reschedule. The receptionist even viewed the messaging from their end herself and did not find anything to refute this fact that the paperwork requirement was not communicated. If these policies regarding preliminary paperwork could simply be communicated with patients via text and email, it would make this process much easier, and most importantly, fair. The same exact thing happened to another patient in the waiting room, unfortunately, due to this lack of communication. It should at least be communicated in either the emails or the text messages, but it was communicated in neither. It’s very frustrating considering we often have to go out of our way to make it to appointments like this.
While the doctor was extremely kind and helpful, I can not get over the difficulties I have had getting in contact and working out billing with the office. The reception has mischarged me and I had to pull teeth with them telling them my insurance was active. One second there was a problem with the insurance and the next there wasn't. Moreover, upon asking for the documentation and itemized receipt for the things I owe, I feel like I was treated as a delinquent customer. These issues combined with the office not calling me back nor having their documentation in order has completely soured my experience. While the doctor was excellent, the office experience was confusing and I had to repeatedly advocate for myself in order to get the billing to be correct. Edit: I must include that I got a patch test, which cost me $174 out of pocket, and they said they FORGOT to check for reactions when they took the patches off on Wednesday. When I came in on Friday to check for reactions I was very disappointed to learn that they didn't check on Wednesday if they were supposed to, luckily we had a picture from Wednesday to reference. Edit 2, because I am so frustrated: It is unbelievable how many different stories I get talking from person to person at this office. They are extremely hard to get in to contact with and to communicate with. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I have serious, non-aesthetic skin issues and I need an office that will take my healthcare seriously. One star.
I’m a new patient to this practice. Five stars from start to finish. The office was clean and welcoming. The representative at the front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable. The medical assistant and physician were both kind and professional. Dr Lloyd has quite an impressive résumé. It’s great to have such a qualified physician in our small community ( Chiefland). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My overall experience was excellent. Front desk staff were very helpful and asked for my proof of insurance. I came prepared with coverage that was up to date. Staff also explained any additional charges or deductibles. Office was super clean, with comfortable seating. I had a lipoma removed by PA Stephanie Penny with a flawless experience, very polite, great personality, no pain, no issues, comfortable lipoma extraction upper right quadrant. This was definitely a 5 star experience.
Very friendly. Very welcoming. Haven't had to wait upon arrival, which is rare these days... Helped eliminate a couple problems I've had for years. Thank you!
