One of the worst experiences of my life. The masseuse was not kind with her elbow, and when I would flinch in pain she would dig into me even harder into my tissue causing me more pain and severe discomfort. She then pushed super hard on my arteries in my neck which made me uncomfortable and caused pain. She burned me with the towel when she put it on my back. Being a med student and an esthetician myself it is dangerous to push on the arteries of the neck that hard. My sister-in-law had her hair ripped out during her service and was burned by a hot towel, after her service her masseuse threw her robe at her and wasn’t very kind.
I received the most amazing, relaxing massage of my life. It was wonderful. Staff was great. I also enjoyed the amenities; hot tub, sauna, steam room. What a great day!
The Serenity spa left a memorable impression with my group. I wish I could say it was a good one but it was so bad, so very bad it was almost unbelievable. If you book a spa appointment here is what to expect. (It happened to us yesterday, as a party of 5 who went there to celebrate my birthday) 1. Mass confusion and disrespect from the staff. 2. To have your spa service time changed without being informed and without your consent. (We had one in our party of 5 who had to wait by herself for 3 hours because they switched it and told her there was nothing they could do, they said "it must be our new system that messed up the times") 3. To be ushered into the women's locker room, given a tour, a cheese plate, champagne and lockers, and then when half of the group is in a spa service, the rest of your group in the women's lounge will be told abruptly to leave the women's locker room and go to the MEN'S locker room. (It was humiliating and degrading. Which brings me to point number 4) 4. They will tell you that you are going to a "co-ed" locker room but it is the MEN'S locker room and lounge which is evident by the sign on the door, and open URINAL in said room. (See attached pictures) this I believe to be the most awkward and disturbing part of the whole day. When I booked nothing was said about having to share undressing spaces with men. I believe the Serenity Spa has shown an example of a total lack of respect and has no regard for women and our right for discretion. 5. As a woman, I felt extremely disrespected and I feel like they disregarded any respect for my body. In the MEN'S locker room where we were shoved into, there were two places to change. A TOILET stall (like, dirty YMCA, not a spa experience at all) or a thin curtained room where the curtain did not fully meet the sides of the wall. I felt so uncomfortable changing out of my swimsuit that I had my friends guard the entrance so I could change real quick. 6. Also you should expect the massage room to be freezing. I am not exaggerating, my massage therapist had to dress in two layers to stay warm. I had goosebumps the whole time. I jokingly told her I would buy her a space heater, and she sadly said she had one but it wasn't doing much. 7. The oil which my massage therapist used was not warm. How much does a warmer cost? $20? I think you can get it on Amazon, Serenity. 8. Also expect a dirty lounge. (See pictures) condensation dripping from a vent in the middle of the MEN's lounge created stains on the floor. 9. I had scheduled a massage at 11 and a pedi at 2 so that I could eat lunch in-between services. After my 11 massage I went straight to the toilet stall in the Women's bathrooms because I was unaware my party had been moved yet. When they moved my appointment without telling me they shouted my name right outside of my bathroom stall. I told them my appointment isn't until 2, and they argued with me for a bit before calling the assistant manager for the day who then called the Spa manager Britt. After a while they told me they would comp my pedi if I could please do it now and not the original time I was given. I agreed on the promise that I could eat because that's why I booked the time in-between. 10. ****Their ONE saving grace**** I didn't completely melt down because their one TRUE gem in the whole place is Amalia, their sweet Spanish nail tech. I didn't get the impression that they treat her well, but she calmed me and was the first one to treat me nice. Her pedi was amazing. If the rest of the front desk staff was half as nice or even civil and non combative that would go a long way for their business. I did apologize to Amalia for eating salad in her face but she was so gracious. Save your time. Save your money. Save your dignity and go somewhere else you will thank yourself in the end.
I received a massage for a couples massage with my boyfriend about 2 weeks ago. The woman who did my massage was either unexperienced or could care less.about what she was doing. My 10 year old daughter gives better massages. True disappointment. The 20% gratuity was automatic. No one had customer service as we did not get a tour or understand what was happening. The place is a huge rip off.
Serenity Spa is absolutely amazing! Lola was sweet to move my full spa day schedule around to meet my needs best and called to let me know in advance. The Spa Attendant was amazing, she went above and beyond for me as it was my first time ever the week before yesterday. Chelsey did my massage that day and I already went back yesterday to ask for Chelsey one week later! I had a body wrap and facial too the first day. The lady who did those for me was super talented and Kind- her name was Elina I believe. Also, Mendia did my manicure and pedicure and was so sweet to listen to my Botox and filler party stories I help host, and to everything else about my life, while making both my fingernails and toenails absolutely beautiful! Everyone was fabulous! Would give an extra 6th star if I could! I will be one of their biggest regulars!
