From my very first visit where it was determined that I should go back on Cosentyx for my severe plaque psoriasis, it took 4 months for me to have my medication in hand and started because they couldn't get the prescription correct. Now I'm up for my first refill (which is now going to be late), call the pharmacy to refill my medication and they inform me that I need a new prescription b cause there was no refills added to the original script. The staff is pleasant but apparently don't know or don't care how to do their jobs correctly.
Daystar has a wonderful staff and excellent care. I have many of my friends who seek care at Daystar with all of them very happy with the care they recieve. Dr. Schlauder is a one of a kind care provider who is tops in his field providing quality health care results to those of us who live in the sunshine state and have been exposed to the sun's rays over the years. I highly recommend Daystar as the place to go to for your dermatology needs.
The doctor and ARNP are good but for these people to pick up the phones or to send refills it's a MESS!!
I have had several visits, my husband has had two and my son has been seen once. We've been seen by a nurse practitioner, Dr. Sanhu and Dr. Schlauder on these various occasions. Everyone we interacted with, including office staff, was friendly and genuinely seemed to want to help. My experience with Dr. Sandhu and Kathy (sp?) have been very good. My son's experience with Kathy was also very good. And my husband's experience with Dr. Sandhu and Dr. Schlauder were very good. HOWEVER, after my husband's first appointment, he received a card for a follow up appointment. Later he found he couldn't make the appointment and called to cancel/reschedule and was told he had NO upcoming appointments. Well, we had a card for one! Also, my husband was seen this past Friday for what we believe to be an allergic reaction to the pulp of a Ficus tree. This is the second reaction and needed to been ASAP. They were very accommodating and got him in before the weekend which we needed because he was hurting and the itch was almost unbearable. He was told two prescriptions (one topical and one oral) would be called into our pharmacy. We arrived on Saturday morning to the pharmacy to find nothing had been sent! Now what?? The office was closed and no medications. We did the best we could to get him through the weekend but we lost valuable time that these medications, especially the oral medication could have been working to ease his issue. When I called today, I was told they SHOULD be able to get the prescription to the pharmacy by end of day. WHAT? I could WALK to their office (8 miles away) and get the written prescription and hand carry it to our pharmacy faster!!! Not to mention, he said the SHOULD be able to do it. Wow. So thrilled that three days after being seen you can tell me you SHOULD be able to get the prescription to the pharmacy. THAT lack of caring, all by itself, cost stars on this review. I like my doctors but the support staff in charge of sending the prescriptions at the end of the day failed leaving my husband and I scrambling to get him relief and when I called to talk about it, it was the support staff that showed a lack of urgency to get the prescriptions there immediately today. What a stupid reason to lose patients....your support staff doesn't ensure needed prescriptions make it to the patient's pharmacy and a support staff that cares not at all to jump through hoops to correct that error later!
My wife and I have been going to Dr. Schlauder for over a year. We both like him and find him very personable. I had a problem with his staff about a month age and posted a negative review here. A few days later Dr. Schlauder, himself called me and asked about my experience. He assured me the problem would be addressed and corrected. Yesterday I had an appointment and everything was fine. He explained what was done to insure those types of issues would not happen in the future. It is refreshing to know that Dr. Schauder cares enough about his patients to make thing right rather than just ignoring the situation.
