Only rating two stars because Dr. Cheryl is very kind, but she should fire and replace everyone that works in her office. My experience with this practice started back in October when I was supposed to have my initial consultation after Health First closed their dermatology department. My appointment was cancelled due to the hurricane (understandable) and rescheduled for November. I called in the day before I was supposed to go in and was told that they had no records of my appointment being rescheduled. I was frustrated and should have found another practice at this point, but I decided to give them grace and rescheduled again for today. When I arrived at the office, everything was fine until I went to check out. The next woman I encountered was insufferable. When she asked for payment, I asked if they took Mastercard. She confirmed so I handed her my card. Somehow this confused her and she asked if she could process payment on the card I literally just handed her…. No big deal, just odd. As she was taking payment we discussed my follow up appointment in two weeks. I asked if it was a quick appointment so I could determine what time of day would work best for my schedule and she seemed bothered that I dare ask her a question. After a short back and forth I asked if I could also schedule an appointment for my son while I was there. She said that “it would take too long” for her to do that and I would have to call in later to do that. She continued to demonstrate how much I was inconveniencing her but was still processing my paperwork. Next thing I know another patient walks up behind me and starts talking over me about how she had to schedule her follow up appointments for her and her husband. The employee then told me I’d have to move aside so she could help the other woman! They clearly knew each other because they started chatting about Happy Hour and Bingo and what not. This woman was literally holding my credit card and told me to move aside so she could help her friend. Disgusting business etiquette. I was blown away and interjected that I no longer wanted to schedule a follow up and that I would just find another doctor. Another employee witnessed this and apologized and offered to help. This lady seemed sincere and apologized profusely. Against my better judgement, I went ahead and closed out with her. A few hours later I called my pharmacy to see if my prescription was ready. I shouldn’t be surprised, but it was never even called in. So now I’m at home after being told I have cancerous spots on my skin with no medicine to begin treating it all because this woman was too bothered to help a new patient. I will not be returning to this practice for anything ever and I recommend everyone to look around before wasting your time and money with people who couldn’t care less about you.
Had scheduled an appointment months in advanced so our child would not have to miss school… Received a call that the provider that THEY scheduled for us had left and they now had to reschedule us for a different date and time down the road. This is extremely bad business on their part, they should’ve found a way to fit us in, we did everything right as a patient and this was their issue not ours. The woman who called was extremely rude and had zero compassion. The business should stand by its appointments . We will be visiting a provider that can live up to its obligations.
Christian Kendrick, APRN-C is amazing. After visiting 5+ various doctors over 2 years, He was able to diagnose and treat my condition with one visit. Wholeheartedly recommend!
I've been going to the Brevard skin and Cancer Center for over 14 years and I've seen their quality of care steadily decline. When I first started with them, they had two offices, now they have 5. I routinely met with a Doctor of Dermatology on each visit. Not so anymore. Their staff is keenly focused on rushing you through the office. They put a lot of emphasis on billings. They don't seem to want to take any time with your care once you do manage to get seen by someone. You feel like cattle being pushed through their office as they rush you through your examinations. It does not matter what time your appointment is scheduled for as they seldom take you on time. Be prepared to wait as much as 30 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. On top of this, the care they provide has room for improvement. I haven't seen an actual Dermatologist in well over 10 years. You are seen by their technicians. So if you're looking for good skin cancer care, you should do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, there are many Dermatologists in the local area.
Christian Kendrick is a wonderful provider. He takes the time to address my concerns and discussed my treatment plan. I am terrified of needles and could barely feel the injections. I highly recommend seeing Christian as a provider because he takes the extra step to make me feel comfortable. Both of his medical assistants were professional as well.
