Doctor Harris (and really all the medical assistants and receptionist) was amazing and made my full body check for skin cancer an easy and painless experience. I had two moles removed quickly the same day that worried me and the doctor was quick to reassure me on some I was iffy about. I already made another appt. for cosmetic reasons due to how nice the experience was. Highly recommend Meridian Dermatology and Dr. Harris!
Edit: The doctor reached out to me to talk about my experience. We havent been able to connect yet because of my own crazy schedule this week. Im adding a star because I appreciate being reached out to and will update my review again once we have connected successfully. This is what reviews are for, the opportunity to hear each other out. I went back and forth as to whether or not I would share this but ultimately I would hate for someone else to experience what I did. And in case the doctor was willing to see how he came across and learn from our interaction I am going to share it At 17 I was diagnosed with a melanoma under my lip, on my chin. I remember the biopsy and then the conversation after when it was identified as melanoma. The doctor spoke to my parents about me possibly needing plastic surgery after the removal. I was 17 (it was 1998) and he was worried it would affect my self esteem. When it was removed I was observed by three medical students who wanted to see the removal. Im a natural redhead and after that surgery I have had to religiously apply sunblock because I am so fair and have a history of melanoma. About 6 months ago I developed a weird to me patch on my face that dried and started bleeding. Because of my history I made an appointment just to get it looked at. *I have also had uterine cancer. I take zero risks now.* So I went in for that skin concern. Imagine my shock when I was gaslit by the doctor who told me that my scar wasn't big enough to have been melanoma and I must be mistaken regarding my former diagnosis. When I challenged him I was told he was just trying to help me save on insurance because melanoma on my chart would mean higher rates so if I hadn't of had it I should take it off my history. Ok.... I have other cancer in my chart so that's a mute point. Thankfully my current concern didnt concern hom, he froze it off. I left feeling judged and totally gaslit and with questions regarding what I actually came in for unanswered. The procedure happened in 1998. Scars change and shrink. Im sorry that mine didn't meet your personal criteria for melanoma but making a patient feel gaslit was really disappointing. I was hoping to return and have some skin tags removed but I am no longer comfortable with that. He may be a phenomenal doctor 99% of the time but he missed the mark with me.
Really clean, comfortable office with friendly staff up front and in back. Dr. Harris was quick, efficient and addressed my concerns and then some. Highly recommend!
Had a great experience. Very confident in the Doctor. Staff were great. My white coat syndrome faded away. I will do better next time, promise.
READ BEFORE YOU GO! I went in for a procedure on my finger when I was pregnant. The doctor had terrible bedside manners and said, since I expressed nerves about the needle, that he would “pull the fire alarm” to get out of doing the procedure… (not a joke, I got turned away that day). On top of that he was rude and lacked overall respect. The rest of the staff seemed nice but when talking to others who went there after, they agreed the doctor was not kind or professional. I ended up going to Treasure Valley Dermatology and their facility was much nicer and the staff were the sweetest people you’d meet. Although Meridian Dermatology has quite the availability, I’d wait to get in someplace else…
