Illinois Dermatology Institute - Crown Point Office

My appointment was at 2pm. Got there 15 minutes early because I'm a new patient. Check in took 2 minutes. Lovely front desk staff! They called my name at 1:50. Had a thorough exam and discussion with Marlee about several issues.. Even received some free samples. Was out of there by 2:10pm. I've seen Marlee at another practice and have great confidece in her.

Everything went good with appointment, except the attitude of the medical assistant, she seemed irritated, even yawned when I was talking. Made me feel uncomfortable. The nurse practitioner was very nice. I will go back.

My MIL came here to have a spot of skin cancer removed from her face. My family (3 people) and I came to be with her, as she was frightened and had never had anything like this done before. A woman at the front desk with very curly blonde-red hair pronounced her name wrong and insisted two of us go back with her because there was not enough room in the waiting area. Mind you, there were a bunch of chairs on the other side of the front door just a few steps away, and only one other person in the waiting room with us seated an appropriate number of chairs down. She "escorted" my two family members and as she slammed my MIL's door shut said, "There, now you can make world peace." She was extremely rude, not to mention unprofessional.

This was my first visit to the clinic. The staff was friendly and professional. Marlee zapped my problem moles and will recheck in 6 weeks. I was confident in her assessment of my moles and pleased that they were not cancerous. It felt good to leave the office knowing I was well taken care of.

As a first time patient, I am SO glad I came here. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
