Iowa Specialty Hospital - Belmond

My daughter had to have surgery. The staff was so wonderful. They were on the ball. They offered to give her a message to help her relax. The nurse's were top shelf. The only downfall I would have to say was the cafeteria food. Their baked goods tasted like they sat out on the counter for a wk uncovered. Very dry and you could tell they weren't fresh. Some of the other food sat in the warmers and got a film on the top. Other than that, things were great.

I had great treatment from the doctor, nurses, antithesis. Only thing stopping a 5 star was the way my insurance was "Gussed at". I knew it was a 100% covered but the sent out bill/est was telling me different. Took 5 calls to 3 different people to finally get the business agent to really look at my coverage and see I was right. Dr Hensley and my Nurse Natalie were great!

I just had my sleeve gastrectomy on Monday and have had virtually no pain. Dr. Eibes and everyone we encountered at Belmond hospital were so kind and helpful. No surprise you have such a successful hospital that you rarely find in a town the size of Belmond. So thankful...love to all of you.

The staff is beyond reproach. I recently had back surgery and was treated with respect, courtesy and professionalism. The staff was, without a doubt the BEST I have ever had. The facility is wonderful. It is clean and well-lit throughout. I would recommend Iowa Specialty Hospital - Belmond to anyone seeking any type of medical care. David Choate Sr.

The urology department is a joke. Especially if you’re a woman! If you don’t go in looking all nice you go in looking like you don’t feel good they will label you and not give you proper service. I went and saw both doctors about kidneystones and issues I was having. They both made me cry and told me my problems weren’t urology problems and there wasn’t anything they could do and that my pain wasn’t real. They never gave me a urine test when I went in for a check up or even drew blood or asked for any kind of scan done… I didn’t give up though I know my body and what I feel. Boeing being seen in Ames and my issues ARE urology problems !!!!!! I spent two years at Belmond urology trying to get them to listen to me before I eventually realized they weren’t gonna take me seriously and nothing was going to be fixed. It’s affected my home life and my work life. Having no answer for so long I’m so thankful I didn’t give up!! Don’t waste your time here. Request to be seen else where. Especially if you don’t feel like you’re being taken seriously. I had to pay copays for every time I went and was turned away each time being made to feel like I was faking it. I shouldn’t have to dress up and look nice to be taken seriously at the doctors. Im not there because I feel good I’m there because I don’t. I hope something is done and they are no longer able to mistreat their Patients!!!! It was McLaughlin and Thomas. Think that’s how you spell their names. The two urologist dudes. Don’t waste your time like I did !!!
