Hutchinson Clinic, PA

BEWARE!!!! If I could leave zero stars I would. I was told when I made my appointment for allergy testing that if I paid up front I would get a discount. I paid the bill and when I arrived at the clinic I had a zero dollar balance. I was asked to fill out paperwork, including insurance information. I explained to the receptionist that I was not filing insurance, but she said in case of emergency she needed me to fill it out. Imagine my surprise when I recieved a bill in the mail for nearly $300. I immediately called billing and was told that since insurance was filed I had to pay back the discount. I explained that my balance was zero, so there was nothing to file, and that I had already told them I was not filing with insurance. It has now been over a year. I have called numerous times, written letters, and done everything in my power to have this balance removed from my account, all without any success. I am now receiving phone calls from a payment agency to collect the money. I have told them the same thing. I am not paying them a time. I have since found a new doctor. I have not gone back to the Hutchinson Clinic and will never set foot in there again. The whole thing is a scam and they are ripping people off.

Congratulations Hutchinson Clinic you've done it again with your AWFUL medical care!!! Walked in this evening with blood pressure 10 min prior at 181/106.. had to sit down and wait 10 min for the receptionist to go ask questions and finish her phone call. Then was asked for symptoms... then asked for my current drivers license and insurance card. Had my DL didn't have my insurance card... was told I'd have to pay a $250 co-pay... um no mam... same insurance for 8 years. She responded "without a card you HAVE to pay a $250 co-pay"... so now shes arguing with a patient in hypertension CRISIS... awsome... "no mam nothing has changed same numbers and I KNOW you can look it up.... as she finally found it... the nurse comes out and tells me "You will have to go across the street to E.R. because we have no testing"... that's really odd to me... because yall have done SEVERAL EKGs on me in this exact same day care over the last few years. So now in cardiac CRISIS I'm sure my blood pressure is even higher... your absolute disregard for your patients is DISGUSTING I've said for YEARS unless your a pediatric patient or a geriatric patient the Hutchinson Clinic does NOT care about you. Hutchinson Clinic cares only about their pocket books! So here you are again... proving that point true as can be...... UPDATE After a trip to Wichita.... ZERO testing was even needed this evening!!! Just a simple conversation to identify a few things that were making me resistant to blood pressure medications... 1 dose of longer acting medication and I'm home comfy in my bed w a blood pressure of 122/80.... funny how that worked after I was REFUSED medical treatment at this facility because "we don't have testing".... did NOT need testing!

The insurance department can’t seem to run insurance correctly. Then billing can’t seems to send bills that arrive or make phone calls so you get turned over to collections.

Absolute WORST experience here. First, the fact that they make you pay hundreds out of pocket cost up front before they go through your insurance, is just astounding. Secondly, my son had food allergy testing scheduled with Dr Lower.. We waited months for this appt and had to drive a ways to get there. Dr Lower walks in with poor bedside manner and an attitude from the start. Just rude and condescending throughout our whole visit. She disregarded all my concerns and experiences about my son. Then she says that she wasn’t going to do any testing besides one, which we didn’t need because we already knew he was allergic to this food, and had cut it out of his diet. What I wanted was to test other foods we were concerned with..but Dr Lower didn’t want to as my son “doesn’t sound like he has those allergies” when my family doctor thought he did which is why my doctor referred us there in the first place. Let me save you the money, time, headache and frustration and do NOT go see this doctor.. Update: So we left the clinic with a full refund for the almost $700 they charged up front to see the doctor after our unpleasant experience. Then guess what happened? Dr Lower’s office STILL went and charged our insurance hundreds of dollars and is even trying to make us pay for the office visit they gave us a refund for! Again guys, stay far away from this doctor and clinic if you don’t want to be swindled and mistreated!

Terrible experience with Dr. Epp an allergy specialist. Drove an hour to spend 5 minutes with him for him to tell me he can't see anything and I need a CT scan. Then they charged me $700.
