Reasons why I regret choosing Dr. Surek: I would give zero stars if that was an option. 1) Years since Dr. Surek performed an upper & lower bleth, I can't fully close my eye lids when I'm sleeping & I'm blinking. This has caused me to have dry eye & can cause a lot of pain. The pain is due to my lids not being able to fully close bc Dr. Surek removed too much skin. Your eyes can't stay moisturized without your lids fully closing. If your eyes aren't moisturized, your eyes dry out, & that dryness causes pain. In addition to pain, dry eyes also causes blurred vision, even with my 20/20 vision. I have had to learn a lot about eye health since Dr. Surek.  None of these factors were mentioned by him before or after surgery. My optomitrist informed me during a routine checkup, about 8 months after having surgery, about my dry eyes bc he could see my eyes were dry. I did not have dry eyes before Dr. Surek. To clarify, in the 8 months of multiple follow ups, Dr. Surek never mentioned anything about dry eyes & never referred me to an ophthalmologist.  My optometrist educated me about dry eyes, my symptoms, reported concerns & referred me to an ophthalmologist.  Reason 2) Dr. Surek's lack of care for eye health. Reason 3) aesthetically: I hate what Dr. Surek did to my eyes. I never asked him to change how I looked. I repeatedly told him I wanted to look refreshed. I provided him 5-6 pictures of me to show & to confirm I wanted to look like myself. It was both validating & devestating when the ophthalmologist agreed that Dr. Surek's work was not good. Side note, I saw the opthalmologist before my 1 year mark of recovery from Dr. Surek's surgery. The opthalmologist did not recommend me having anyone fix what I didn't like at that time, because my skin was still really tight post surgery. The opthalmologist's suggestion was to give things more time to see how my skin does & to continue monitoring the health of my eyes from the dry eyes. 4) I also had a lower face lift. I have large scars on the back sides of my ears, which are noticeable from a side view. He never suggested any treatment, such as massages, while they were healing, & none of his nurses said anything. I did mention the scaring during multiple checkups. They said put the scar cream & ointment. I have a "bubble" of a scar on my upper eye lid & scar near my ear on the side of my face. He also said prior to surgery that my upper eyelid scar/incisions would be in my crease. They were not in my crease. They were way above my crease. 5) Poor bed side manner. He rushes; the wait was 30-60 minutes for scheduled appointments; he asked minimal questions; he did not summarize what I wanted, to make sure I knew, that he knew what I wanted; he presents very arrogant; he refused to take any accountability with my dissatisfaction with the results; instead, he would tell me what he thinks I'm actually upset with, which was not accurate, even after making multiple attempts, during several follow ups to explain; he would tell HE thought I looked great. Eventually, I stopped saying anything, smiled & was polite during my checkups bc telling him how I felt & thought didn't matter. He said he'd follow up with a colleague to get their opinion about my complaints, but never got back to me on that. I've been to several doctors to gauge if my complaints & expectations were unrealistic. None of the doctors disagreed with me & I showed them the same pictures of my younger self that I provided Dr. Surek. I regret going to him for medical, aesthetic, overall care from a provider, financial, time, future financial reasons, I feel less confident now with how I look, and the overall traumatic experience. I am extremely hesitant to have anyone else work on my face. I'm so scared it will be another terrible job or another medical issue. I can't explain it enough how much I regret going to him. I write this in hopes my terrible experience helps someone else.

Had very informative and thorough consult with Dr. Surek and his nurse Hilary. They took time to listen to all my question's and concerns, were very personable, and spent plenty of time with me to discuss the procedure. I was given a portfolio of before and after pictures to review without having to ask to see them. After the consult I feel very confident in Dr. Surek’s ability and expertise as a surgeon and also in his professional and pleasant nature and that of his nurse Hilary! My search for the best surgeon is over!

I can’t say enough amazing things about my consultation with Dr. Surek and his nurse Hilary! This was my second consultation and I’m so thankful that I decided to not cancel and go with the first surgeon I consulted with like I initially thought about doing because of price. Dr. Surek was incredibly thorough with the information he provided in regards to a breast augmentation. He took the time to get measurements to give a better idea what size would be best with my body frame but still making sure I get what I wanted from my goal picture. I felt so incredibly comfortable and knew I wanted Dr. Surek as my surgeon! I highly recommend consulting with Dr. Surek if you are interested in breast augmentation!!! I can’t wait to see my results and will update my review a few months after my surgery! 🫶🏻 UPDATE: ‼️KCMO ladies‼️ If you are looking for a surgeon for your BA, I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Chris Surek in Overland Park, KS! From start to finish, it has been such a smooth process. He was incredibly thorough during my consultation and my recovery has truly been so easy! By day 2 I was running errands with my husband and by the end of the week I was doing everything I was before the surgery. I could not be happier with my results!!

Dr. Surek and his staff were wonderful. Professional, compassionate, and honest. No “up sale” or false promises, excellent facts. Left feeling very confident in my future Plastic Surgeon and his team.

Let’s just say that I’m an aging martial artist who had lost his kick. My session with Dr. Surek has made a difference. My treatment was efficient, authoritative, and effective. My only regret is that I didn’t get a referral earlier. My kick is back!
