Associates In Dermatology - East End office

I love going to Associates in Dermatology! Everyone is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I especially appreciate the patient portal. I can message Jill (Nix), and she’ll respond in a timely way…every time! Jill is fantastic! So personable… I never feel rushed! Highly recommend this practice!

This is my second visit to this office & I don’t think I would go anywhere else. My first time was for a lesion on my scalp & I was very impressed with the staff then, this time I had a lesion on my left arm & Dr Brown was great along with his assistant, he explained what he had to remove & how much, when done his assistant explained in detail how to care for the area. By the time I got home they called with the result all margins were negative and no further tissue had to be cut out. I’m very glad we have such great dermatologist close to home.My thanks to everyone in the office.

The check in process was easy and quick. I saw a PA who was very knowledgeable and listened to me about my issues and explained everything. It was my first visit to this practice and I was made to feel very comfortable. The support staff was great. I feel I made the perfect choice with Dermatology Associates.

I had a terrible experience with this office’s billing practices. Despite my insurance clearly stating I have a $0 copay for specialist visits, the front desk insisted I had to pay a copay because their system said so. I even showed them my insurance portal confirming I owed nothing, but they refused to listen. One woman even picked up the phone and refused eye contact as I was talking to her! To make matters worse, they claimed they were actually charging a “deposit”, which they only refund after the insurance claim processes. This is completely unnecessary and feels like a way to hold onto patients’ money for no reason. When I called my insurance company afterward, they confirmed I should not have been charged and advised me to have an Anthem rep speak to the office next time—because apparently, showing them proof myself wasn’t enough. The front desk staff was unhelpful and dismissive, and the whole experience felt shady. If you don’t want to deal with surprise charges and unnecessary hassle, I’d recommend finding a different dermatologist. It’s a shame because the doctor I saw was truly incredible and I greatly enjoyed the service.
