MD Claiborne Dermatology: Elmwood

If zero was an option that us what I would score this place. They found a skin cancer in my lip...then my insurance changed they are not even willing to continue care until i can see another physician. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE!! SELFISH IT IS VERY EYEOPENING TO THIS PHYSICIAN level of care and care for her patients.

I’ve only worked with Dr. Vogel and not the other two dermatologists but I love her! She is so kind and doesn’t make you feel bad if you accidentally use a product wrong. The support staff at the Elmwood location is very nice too. Happy to have finally found a dermatologist that I can consistently see and look forward to visits!

Not happy. I booked my appointment a week ahead of time. I really prepared for my visit. I made sure to write down and gather up everything relevant to bring with me to go over with the dermatologist. I thought maybe now, I would finally get some answers to my debilitating issues that I've been suffering with for so long. I arrived at my appointment 30 minutes prior, as instructed to fill out paperwork as a new patient. I signed in, gave the receptionist my ID and insurance cards, and I was handed the forms to fill out. As I was sitting there in a room full of waiting patients, I started to fill out the required forms, when the receptionist called me to the window to tell me that they don't accept my insurance. I told her that I booked this appointment with this physician because he was on the list of providers in the network. She rudely handed me back my cards and again said, "We don't accept this". I felt humiliated and hurt as she never offered an explanation nor an apology for wasting my time and having me come in. Why they wouldn't have verified this before having me come in, I do not know, but I was pretty upset as I was turned away, as a room full of patients watched and listened to how rudely I was treated. So, as much as I would have loved to given an honest review of the doctor, I didn't get a chance to do so, since I was altogether rejected of being seen. My husband called the provider as soon as we got in our vehicle, in order to find out why we were turned away. The representative that we spoke with from the provider, was looking right at this physicians name, phone number and address on the list. She didn't have an answer as to why they would reject me, other than maybe they decided to drop out of that plan. She too, questioned why they wouldn't have verified all of this information that they should have gotten over the phone, before having me come in. It was unprofessional of them and disheartening to me. I'm very reluctant about even trying to book an appointment with another physician, as it seems that those I try to seek help from, simply don't care.

I so love this place I've been going here for about a year now and they gave me some good cream for my face in my face is very beautiful and amazing and I thank them so much

Horrible and horrific doctor!!! Not thorough and caring. Seems like a money maker office. Professionalism is a BIG PROBLEM and bedside manners ISN’T there!!!! PLEASE DON’T EVER GO THERE!!!!
