I had appointment here. I didn't get to see the doctor I wanted to see because appointments were a year out. So I was given an appointment with Dr. Futrell, wishing I had look at reviews first. I went in and was asked questions that had nothing to do with what I was there for in the first place. It made me so uncomfortable. Then the doctor came, she really didn't seem concern with any of my issues, I have NF1 and that was not in the least a concern of hers. It was basically like I needed to leave everything left alone. I have a lymphoma on my back and she told to leave it alone because she wasn't sure where it started and ended. I have a spot under my eye and several places on the back of my head. They were no concern of hers. Basically she said I didn't need anything done on this day. Told she would see me in a year. The office staff informed me that whatever doctor you see there your basicly stuck with, that you cannot change doctors. I know there are good doctors there My Aunt and her sister go there and have amazing experiences there. I will be seeking help else where because I feel like my experience was absolutely uncalled for and there no need to waste my money.
Dr. Glorioso is Awesome!! I was very nervous about a procedure that I had done by her.. She has great bedside manor.. She was very kind and caring and answered all of my questions, which made what could have been a traumatic experience very tolerable!!! She also very much knows her stuff and very precise in her work !!!
Dr. Futrell is extremely knowledgeable and has found numerous problems so they could be treated early. She is always attentive and thorough. She may also have the best shoes of any doctor I have ever seen. The staff is friendly and efficient. I always make my appointments for 8:00 a.m. and have never waited.
Dr Baker is truly the best physician I have ever interacted with and I am a nurse. She is kind, pleasant, encouraging and her heart is big! Her staff is also very pleasant.
It saddens me as a fellow healthcare professional to leave any review of a healthcare facility less than 4 or better. However, I’m going to have to do that today. The check-in staff were great, the nurses were great, the admit lady for the lab was absolutely the sweetest and so was the phlebotomist who drew my labs. My issue is with Dr. Futrell. That may have been some of the worst bedside care that I have received in a very long time. When she arrived in the clinic room, we both spoke to one another and I complimented her shoes; I specifically remember they were black and gold knee high Fendi boots. I love shoes and made it a point to be complimentary. Not once did she say thank you and I repeated the compliment because I assumed that maybe she didn’t hear me. Yup! She heard me, she just didn’t say thank you. I shrugged it off and began to discuss my skin issues. She asked me questions and as I began to answer, she would cut me off as soon as I was one sentence into answering the questions. I get ready to show her the areas that had been afflicting me and she looked at literally two spots and stated “oh that’s permanent scarring. You’re stuck with that. That won’t go away.” I would have loved if that answer related to anything that I was showing her. I didn’t ask about scarring. I asked if she could help me determine the cause because CLEARLY the scarring is from itching which is a symptom. I could have sworn when you attend medical school, residency and then fellowship that you go through a process of determining a differential diagnosis but our good sis Dr. Futrell threw that baby out with the bath water. Then, she goes on to tell me that I need labs done to determine if it’s auto-immune. I ask “well if the labs come back normal, what next?” She said “oh take some Pepcid and Claritin twice a day for the histamine release.” She then walks out the room. She doesn’t tell me the mg amount for Pepcid…10 mg? 20 mg? Do you even know if I have GI issues and can’t even take Pepcid? Do I have an allergy to Claritin? Who knows? Because she never asked!!! Did we come to an understanding on what could be causing my symptoms? Why are we just focused on treating symptoms and not researching causes? Didn’t my insurance and copay provide you with enough financial support to spend more that 6 minutes with me for what’s supposed to be, at the minimum, a 15-30 minutes appointment? A few days later, a nurses calls me with the lab results. Everything is normal. I asked “ok, so now that Dr Futrell sees that the labs are normal. What’s next? Because I’m still facing these skin issues that brought me in to your clinic in the first place.” The nurse says “oh! Do you think you need another appointment? If you feel you need another one, then yeah come on in and make another one.” The nurse didn’t speak rudely to me. She was very sweet but that wasn’t the right answer. The answer is, go tell your Doctor that “just because the results are normal, doesn’t mean that you’re done treating this patient. You haven’t helped this patient figure out what’s going on with her skin and if she were satisfied, she wouldn’t be on the phone asking what is next?” That’s what a true patient advocate does. And that’s central to our profession as nurses. Dr. Futrell was not overtly mean nor rude but she was impatient, dismissive and didn’t do her job in totality. Labs should not be the only thing you tell a patient to get and then be done. You took the insurance money and copay, do the job you went to school for and were paid to do. To treat the patient. Ok, rant over. Again, I would like to point out that the staff were great and very welcoming. I truly do hope that someone can recommend to me a better Dermatologist because I’m still in need of one. Thanks a bunch!
