MaineHealth Specialty Skin Care - Rockport

This doctor did not examine my skin, did not educate me on prevention/exacerbation of my condition, told me its probably xyz but not worth biopsing, he did not tell me what he prescribed or possible side effects despite direct questioning of both, no idea if I have a follow-up, and point blank told me he didn't look at my records (also did not have my allergies or current medication and REFUSED to reconciliate). I drove 1h 40m to be prescribed some mystery medication that I hope I'm not allergic too. I was dismissed and devalued in my suffering. I wad told to aquire referrals to general surgery on my own. Complete and utter waste of time. He will charge my insurance and I will have a copay (not to mention the gas and time getting there and back) for absolutely zero work on his part. Did not provide ANY education whatsoever. The documentation he put in my chart is completely inaccurate, i cant wait for the fight to get that fixed! It's too bad because the office and clinical staff we great.

We were given an urgent appointment. The staff at the front desk and the MA were very friendly and helpful. Dr Hoekstra was very knowledgeable, took time to explain things clearly and gave us time to ask questions. We never felt rushed and it was a very good appointment. Would highly recommend
