This office is very professional and I always looked forward to my appointments. Dr.Kunal is very friendly and knowledgeable in his field. I’ve seen very positive results with my acne and Dr.Kunal was always happy to ask about how my treatment is going. In addition, the office was always clean, and my appointments were always on time. Definitely a 5 star doctor, office, assistants, and overall experience.
My PCP gave me a referral to this business so I called last Friday to schedule an appointment. The woman who answers the phone told me to go online and request an appointment then their billing department would have to confirm if my insurance was accepted. She also mentioned the billing department was already gone for the day so they would contact me the next business day. After 3 business days of no communication from the billing department I called the business again today to follow up. The same woman I spoke to the last time answered and asked for my insurance (Carefirst Administrators) she then stated the business doesn’t accept it. Why didn’t she just tell me that when I called the first time? This business is listed in Carefirst’s provider directory as in-network and accepting new patients btw.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Sapphaire Dermatology. The wait times were ridiculously long (even though you're required to show up 15-minutes early), and when I was finally seen, the staff seemed poorly trained and unprepared. Communication is terrible throughout the visit, making the entire process stressful and frustrating. To make matters worse, their safety protocols are highly concerning—one staff member drew my blood without wearing gloves, which is completely unacceptable. The procedure I went in for was not completed properly, and I ultimately had to schedule another medical appointment elsewhere to fix their mistakes. During a separate appointment, I received a call from their medical billing specialist informing me that I would have to pay entirely out of pocket, despite having insurance coverage. This was completely unexpected and added another layer of frustration to an already bad experience. This practice is disorganized, unsafe, and a complete waste of time. I strongly do not recommend Sapphaire Dermatology to anyone looking for competent and professional care. Avoid at all costs.
UPDATE: Shortly after posting my review, I was contacted by Riticia at the office to rectify the situation. I really appreciate how she handled the matter with care. I ended up successfully getting my supplement with her help on the 3rd try. Her actions make me consider remaining a patient at the practice, and were much appreciated. Unfortunately everything that could go wrong, has went wrong, in my experiences with this office. Dr. Divya herself was pleasant besides the fact that my appointment started almost 45 minutes after the scheduled time. I appreciated that she apologized for this, however. I want to point that out because that was my only apology in all that has gone wrong for me with this office. I was overcharged at the visit for my copay, per my EOB, and I am still waiting for this to be reconciled by Sapphire. The receptionist told me I would receive my refund “as a credit” - which really is not right as I paid with my money, not with a credit. I am still shocked by that response. At our appointment, we discussed me purchasing a supplement at the office. I was told the hours of when I could come and pick it up (“any time” between..). I arrived the next day within those specified hours, at 1:30pm, to find the office door was locked. I called, no one answered. I knocked, no one answered. I went out of my way to make that stop that day for nothing. The next morning I called about what had happened and scheduled a time when I could come back to actually get the supplement. The date was confirmed with the office via email. When the day came, now having little to no trust in this practice, I called to confirm I was coming to get the supplement before I left my house. I was told, yes, come. I get there 20 minutes after our phone call and the receptionist tells me, they are out of the supplement. Why this was not checked, as I went out of my way to inform them I was coming, is such a careless miscommunication. Still waiting on them to get back to me about whether I will be able to come back (which would now be a 3rd time) to actually purchase the supplement. What really puts me a bad taste in my mouth is that the inconvenience and disrespect of their patients’ time seems to be such a norm for the office that there is no acknowledgment of their shortcomings nor an apology. There was no apology about being overcharged for my copay nor for being instructed to come to the office, not once but twice, to pick up something that they did not have ready for me.
The staff is very polite and helpful. The office is nice and clean. I saw Dr. Yanas he was very knowledgeable and took his time with my visit. I did not feel rushed at all. They also had free samples in the waiting room for you to take. Dr. Yanas is my new Dermatologist. Very pleasant visit.
