Art of Dermatology - Berkley

The Art of Dermatology is amazing. The office is absolutely beautiful and SUPER clean. The staff are all attentive, nice, and helpful. Dr. Gottam is amazing. She is super at her job and also very kind, efficient, and helpful. I have been a patient since the day she opened this location and will always continue.

Allison, the nurse practitioner who saw me today, was kind, attentive, and detailed throughout my appointment. The staff was welcoming and fun, and the office was clean. I did not use their cosmetic services but I imagine they take care of both their medical and cosmetic patients with similar standards!

Don’t go to this place. They’re very professional and act accordingly, but they will take money out of your account before they even send you a statement. They did it to me twice I don’t have a problem paying my bills, but I would like to have the statement first. Their practice is to automatically take the money without any notice to the patient. DO NOT GO TO THE ART OF DERMATOLOGY IN BERKLEY. THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR DEBIT CARD WITHOUT YOU KNOWING.

I was very impressed with the whole experience. The ladies at the front desk who checked me in were very nice and helpful. The assistant who took me back to see the doctor was very pleasant and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Gotten was pleasant to talk to and she made me feel that my condition is important. I definitely will be back.

My son (a minor) had a new patient visit yesterday, 2/20/25. Upon arrival to the office, I was surprised when the receptionist asked for "a card to hold on file." When I asked why, she states that "there are some cancellation fees that aren't covered by insurance." The appointment was very necessary for my son, so I figured eh, why not. The appointment went fine, but I just received an alert from by bank for a charge of $50! I never signed any receipt and have absolutely no idea what the charge is for. This is surprisingly unprofessional and reads very much like a scam. Unfortunately I would avoid this office, or at least ensure that you get some transparency in their pricing before your actual visit. Granted, I should have read the reviews, but didn't feel I needed to for a dermatology office. Lesson learned, and I'm very disappointed.
