Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery - Petoskey

Money is the driver not healing or health. After driving 90 miles and waiting nearly 2 months they informed me they don't take my insurance and blamed "corporate" for "making a mistake" upon arrival. When I called "corporate" it was the same front desk staff. How are they separate from "corporate"? It's the same company. I was there due to skin cancer from my breast cancer radiation and not feeling well. Bc I had medicaid when I scheduled they changed my appt from 2 weeks out to nearly 2 months. They confirmed my insurance twice before I went to appt. Front desk staff was a very "Karen" situation. I was crying and confused but they just shook their finger at me and shoved me out stating "I already said sorry" in a very tense tone... as if somehow rudely saying sorry makes up for the mess. This is what breaks people. I worked since I could sling a newspaper and I can't get a skin check when I'm sick. I know my other providers will help me... these guys don't give 2 poops.

Doctors and staff are excellent. Billing is a mess. After my last visit in June -a follow-up after a prior procedure in which no work was done- I was told that I did not owe anything. In September I received 3 voicemails from some random 855 number saying if I didn’t pay my bill my account would be suspended. I googled the phone number and others had reported the number as a scam number. I checked my online account after each of three calls and it clearly showed that I had no outstanding bills. Suddenly yesterday I receive an email saying that if I don’t pay my bill I’ll be turned over to collections. I checked my account and there is suddenly a $58 charge. I’ve left a rather specific voicemail for Advanced Dermatology and will be interested in hearing back. I’d also like a response from Advanced a dermatology to this review.

I've been dealing with a blood clotting disorder. One of the things they are looking for is Tumors that throw off clots. I was referred to them by Otsego Munson to ave them look at it. Weeks later, the area burns, itches, a definite growth, and right before the appointment i was told they were canceling because they don't accept my insurance. No real apology but to call UM to do it, which they couldn't even do for me after dropping me last minute. They are looking for tumors in both legs. Now I get to wait more months to get in somewhere. These things are time sensitive. A day could mean my life. If it proves to be cancer at this point I'll probably die or at the least lose my leg. See you in court. Thanks for the caring.
