Unfortunately I will have to update my review from 5 stars to 1 star. While the doctor seems very knowledgeable, everything has kind of gone down hill since our first couple of interactions. I’ve had to go get my Botox retouched nearly every time she has injected me, resulting in time off and more money spent. I understand that it’s a luxury, but I think she might just not be a great injector. Not only that but I use a particular cheaper brand of Botox that I wasn’t informed I need to call the office to make sure they order it for me. This resulted in me having to either come back again or spend more money. I chose to spend more money, but once again the injection sites she chose were not effective and within the week of getting injected I had full movement in my face. Then when trying to schedule a re-touch because at this point she is unable to get it right the first time I come in, I am unable to reschedule to get the retouch within a reasonable amount of time. I don’t know if the doctor’s times have changed but she has very little availability. In addition to that, her front desk, while mostly very polite and well intentioned, aren’t very helpful (especially related to insurance). So will have to find a new dermatologist and a new injector.
I loved this place. Highly recommended if you want to take the fun back from your fungus. The doctor is nice and knowledgeable and I would 100% go back again but with their help, I hope I won't have to.
Overall love the doctor. Very straightforward and knowledgeable. My issue is with the front desk. They had called to ask for payment from my previous appointment the day before I was scheduled for a follow-up. I told them I would need to wait a few days for my HSA money to hit my account. Receptionist confirmed this was ok and knew I had an appointment the next day. I came in and they said they needed payment before I could be treated. I explained my story with the receptionist the day before and they said they still needed payment. I told them that I could not provide like I stated on the phone. They then charged me a cancellation fee even though I was there in person and they were the ones that refused to treat me without payment. If I had known this prior, I would have rescheduled to avoid a cancellation charge. Because of this experience, I am going to be looking for a new doctor.
The receptionist Sherlene has continued to call me ma’am on the telephone even after I correct her. This has happened on every phone call. I just called again. I corrected her and told her that she keeps doing this and that it’s rude. She replied by saying “I apologize ma’am.“ Telephone calls probably shouldn’t be routed to someone who lacks the ability to listen and continues to misgender people after she’s been corrected 10 times. I also found that after visiting this office, they printed off the wrong post visit and medication instructions. I called afterwards because I was confused and in the end, I’m not entirely sure that I got the right instruction. Additionally, my most recent appointment request was for a recurrence of a problem which required a refill of a prescription for a topical steroid but I couldn’t get an appointment for 3 weeks. I was told that I would have to wait for the appointment. I understand that this office only has one doctor but it’s inconvenient to watch the situation get worse so I found another doctor.
I had a wonderful experience here- throughout the whole appointment everyone was very kind and caring. My appointment started right on time and was very timely - in and out in a half hour, it was wonderful and I really felt like Dr. Cliffel listened to me and answered all my questions. I have a hard time getting comfortable with new doctors but I felt right at home from the moment I walked in.
