UnaSource Surgery Center (Suite 100 - First Floor)

I encourage anyone needing outpatient surgery to go to Unasource, from the time I checked in with registration till I was discharged it was the best service ever! They are very organized, kind & all the staff knew exactly what their roles were! My Doctor was amazing as well. I drove over 2 hours and will do it again if needed!! Thank you to the entire staff!

I have been living with a few eroding disks in my lumbar region for a while. The past two years I have advanced from weekly chiropractic care to cortisone injections into my spinal cord. Even with an injection every three months the pinched nerves were extremely painful and limited my mobility. I was referred to Dr. Jacobson by my back doctor Jason Malawa. He suggested an ablation surgery to my L4, L5 and S1 vertebrae, to destroy the nerve ends that have been getting pinched and making the muscles seize up in the lumbar. Dr. Jacobson did a great job explaining the procedure and helped to get the surgery approved by BCBS. When the day of surgery came I was told to report to the Unasouce building in Troy. The location is easy to find and top notch. The nurses were outstanding and I was assigned a private room for the pre surgical prep and post operation recovery. It was clean, private and had a comfortable chair for my wife to use while waiting for me to recover. I am very happy with the care from the nurses and Dr. Jacobson. It’s still early in the recovery phase, but I am feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time. It seems the lower lumbar is already looser and less inflamed.

The surgery experience was outstanding. From the time we got there to the time we left all personnel were extremely helpful knew their roles and responsibilities and did everything very well and were efficient. If I had to do this again or knew someone needing surgery I would highly recommend this facility

Beware of Hidden Costs – Ask for Pricing in Writing I had an extremely frustrating experience with MI Ortho's billing. My fiancé was prescribed a knee brace and asked upfront how much it would cost. The staff was unable to provide an exact price but estimated around $100. We later received an $800 bill for the brace—far beyond what was communicated and nearly five times the price of the exact same brace available on amazon ($171). To make matters worse, the bill wasn’t sent until 1/18, long after any opportunity to return the brace. When we reached out to discuss the issue, the office refused to adjust the price. This lack of transparency and flexibility has left us stuck paying an outrageous price for something that should have been clearly disclosed upfront. Patients deserve clear, honest pricing before being billed hundreds of dollars. If you’re considering getting medical equipment here, demand written cost estimates—otherwise, you may find yourself in the same frustrating situation we did.

Dr. Endress was friendly, professional, thoughtful, and respectful. My experience with her made me feel comfortable and cared for and I appreciate that from a medical professional. The surgery center staff was great! Center was clean and comfortable in all areas. I would highly recommend this facility to other patients seeking care.
