Avoid Washington University Facial Plastic Surgery Center if you can. I had a terrible experience with Emily Spataro. I have had many injuries and many surgeries to repair the injuries. Emily Spataro is the ONLY surgeon who has refused to tell me what type of surgery she was scheduled to perform on me. Unsurprisingly, I cancelled the surgery. (I asked for the name of the procedure for week on MyChart and was left on "read".) I was talked into scheduling another consultation and starting the process over. I asked for a copy of my medical records so that I could ask another plastic surgeon (who I already had an appointment with, for a different reason) if he thought it would work. I got a MyChart message from "Stacia Jansen, RN, Senior Director, Clinical Operations Department, Otolaryngology" that said: "We have also cancelled your scheduled August appointment as you have made the decision to seek a second opinion." So, no seconds opinions allowed with Washington University's facial plastic surgeons. Another plastic surgeon, who is Washington University-affiliated, suggested that I schedule a consultation with Dr. Branham to fix my very broken nose. So I called Washington University Facial Plastic Surgery Center and discovered that I am banned from making an appointment with any of their surgeons: not because because I said or did anything threatening or violent (which I did not) ... but because I was asked for my medical records to get a second opinion. (Washington University School of Medicine is currently being investigated by the MO Attorney General for insurance fraud.) It may be important to note: Emily Spataro's father, Peter Spataro, is Washington University School of Medicine's malpractice attorney. (See the FloJo court case injustice for details.) Emily Spataro seems to be a nepotism hire.
I've been seeing Dr. Chi for several years. I had a neck tumor removed over 12 years ago in California. Dr. Chi has been helping me with the nerve damage in my face that makes my left side not symmetrical to my right. He also completely reconstructed the inside of my nose that was going to collapse due to a small whole left by a previous sinus surgery. He is professional, caring, and a top notch doctor. The staff is also awesome!!
Good results with surgery but the front office is awful, at least the people who answer the phones. Last time I tried to call the office I got disconnected three times before anyone even answered the phone. When I did speak finally speak to someone I was transferred to another (wrong) office, and when I finally got though to make the appointment, when I told the person about the issues I was having getting through, I was basically called a liar and that there were no problem with their phones. Better off to just go by the office and make appointments in person if you can.
So much better than West county plastic surgeons where they lie and cheat to get to the top. If you’re trying to decide where to go but want to go with Wash U., definitely chose to come here! Everyone is great!
I sat for an hour. Did not talk to Dr J Chi longer than 10 minutes. Informed him of when i could be in for surgery. He assured me it would be no problem for an 8 AM surgery. Then a nurse came in to tell me all she has is six o clock i must take becouse i have to fix the fractures in my nose and face. When i told her i live in FESTUS!!! an hour away she said well cant you just have your mom wake up at 4 so she can drive you here then back so she can be at work if not theres nothing we can do. We have nothing else open. Even though the dr assured me otherwise. She then decided to be rude and ignorant stating im stupid if i dont take this and stubborn. Sorry lady but you need to work on your communication skills. Dont make it so obviouse with that cross you wear that you hate gays. Its funny as soon as i make a statement.to my fiance that your whole demeanor changed. So needless to say i walked out. Im now looking at my bill. And they wanted 270 dollars for me waiting in a waiting.room for an hour. Talking to dr J Chi for ten minutes. So they could attempt to bully me into a 6 AM surgery. Absolutly unproffessional. Here i am still not needing surgery my face looks fine and i breath fine, yet i had to do it, no thanks. Have fun dealing with my lawfirm and lawyer. Unproffessional and 270 dollars every ten minutes you tell a dr whats wrong with you. Ridiculous.
