Surgical Center of New Hampshire

I was so impressed with the team of the amazing and well trained doctors/nurses/surgeon/anesthesiologist that I worked with. A great team of women that put me at ease right away. They informed me of the procedure from beginning to end. I felt very safe and reassured that I was in good hands. I was also impressed with how organized the Surgical Center of New Hampshire is. They are running a very smooth operation. Their facilities are very clean. It was a nice touch with the warm blankets.

My spouse had a good experience here so I requested a referral to Surgical Center of NH to get a colonoscopy through the open access program. Doc sent a referral right away and I started calling... and calling... and calling. I left multiple messages over a period of a couple of weeks for the open access coordinator and never got a call back. Finally I reached her when she picked up the phone for once when I called and found out I didn't qualify. I am perfectly fine not qualifying. I am not perfectly fine having to essentially beg and plead for a live person to screen me. Set me back weeks. It shouldn't be this difficult to reach someone to schedule procedure (or be screened for one). On the bright side, the next place I was referred to (not Surgical Center of NH) took one call, five minutes, and I was scheduled.

Please read!!! I want to start by saying the surgical team is fantastic 5 stars for them I was treated very well by everyone of them. HOWEVER the billing department and office women were horrendous. This was my experience I want to warn others. The billing department kept calling me and harassing me to pay the high end of my procedure starting a week prior. I called back and ask if my surgery would be canceled if not paid. They didn’t say yes or no but kept repeating I’m required to pay. I called my doctor’s office after about this matter. My doctor’s office was very upset and said only my doctor can cancel my procedure for a medical reason only and I am not required to pay day of surgery. I get there the day of and the office worker said I need to pay $3,706 before I could be taken back for surgery. I told her what my doctor said she argued that this is wrong and I have to pay. I told her I absolutely can not pay that and offered to put down $100. She was frustrated and said we can wait for the manager. I was willing to do this. But my boyfriend became stressed as I needed this surgery and offered to pay $1000. She jumped on this. I know I could have paid much less maybe not at all. She then kept talking about how this situation was stressful for her and she wanted to cry. That comment made me so mad. How inconsiderate I’m so stressed about my surgery and having to cough up money I don’t have. But she’s the one who might cry!? Then went on about how she might get in trouble for only taking $1000. It wasn’t even remotely believable I saw it all over her face. I had been so stressed about this but yet she was going to cry!? Please! How unprofessional and uncaring about all of the stress of this for me then having to go right to surgery I had less then 15 mins to decompress from this situation before surgery. They will get as much as they can from you upfront. I do not think this is legal as I have insurance and should pay when billed from that. They will absolutely bully you it’s wrong. I could not call my doctors office to have her speak to the office worker as it was 6:30 am. I loved the surgical team and nurses. But the billing department and office worker did nothing but stress me out before surgery. I would never have surgery here again and I recommend anyone scheduled here to request surgery else where.

I was so nervous and every single person treated me like I was their only patient of the day. I felt totally safe and the procedure went smoothly. Everything from billing to anesthesia was explained to me and they didn’t mind my one million questions.

I was apprehensive about the day but staff puts you at ease. Very clean, welcoming and professional. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. Thank you for recognizing that warmth makes all the difference!
