I would have given zero stars if I could! I had a dark raised spot on my nose. I was scheduled with Dr.Kumar to have it removed. The doctor said it’s benign growth and can be removed with nitrogen. He then applied it on the spot. A couple of days later scabbing had started to form and I’ve noticed that the growth was not all removed. I had scabs around the spot but nothing in the center of it. So I called the office and stated my concerns. I knew the doctor was leaving the practice ( I was told that when I scheduled my first appointment) and I wanted him to take another look and possibly treat the center of the spot. I spoke with one of the nurses and she told me that I had to wait at least 6 weeks for the growth to go away. I told her I knew the spot wasn’t treated all and also I was concerned the doctor won’t be there anymore and I didn’t want to pay another $80 copay for something that I have already paid for, but wasn’t done right. She didn’t let me come in and had me wait. So, weeks passed and the growth was still there… as I knew it would be. I called the office again and spoke with another nurse. She told me the doctor who treated it left the practice. Of course he did and I knew it! She said I could be seen by another doctor. She said the spot didn’t have to be treated in the center and nitrogen works regardless! She then continued with a nonsense that if the spot is still there then they would have to biopsy it! I tried to explain to her the center of the spot wasn’t touched that’s why completely didn’t go away. I told her I took pictures after the procedure was done and it clearly shows that the center of the spot wasn’t treated. The nurse was rude and sounded like I was stupid and didn’t know what I was talking about. She said she could put me on a cancelation list to see another doctor because they don’t have any openings and also there will be another copay and they would biopsy it. So now after all of that it turned out the spot isn’t benign?!?! How can she even diagnose that?! Because the nitrogen didn’t take it all out?! I bet it would if the center of the spot was treated! I can’t believe they treat patients like that. I work in medical field as well and we would never speak to a patient like that or had them pay for something they have already paid! Shame on the practice. I spoke with a nurse who works at different dermatologist’s office and she confirmed that the spot wasn’t removed properly. I will go to another office to have it removed. I hope this review will help others to stay away from this office.
My son was given a recommendation for a different dermatologist. We waited 3 weeks for the appointment and then 2 days before the appointment the dermatologist cancelled. I started calling around to see if anyone had any availability. I stumbled across Andover Dermatology. The receptionist was so accommodating and was able to get us in the same day! Not only that, but the Dr. was so friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Have us recommendations to help, and save money in the long run! Very thankful the other dermatologist cancelled or I would have never found this Gem!
After seeing so many negative comments, I have to write this. I absolutely love Dr. Christine Anderson, I saw her as a teenager, and then again recently as a hormonal adult! She is very professional, knowledgeable, and kind; I never feel rushed. I highly recommend her as a dermatologist.
I wasn't going to do a review for this office. I had a wonderful experience many years ago where Dr. Terlizzi removed a cyst from my head. An easy procedure. I went back to have the same procedure done. I waited 5 weeks for this appointment with a Dr. Kumar. When I arrived I was surprised to be required to pay my copay before seeing the doctor. I walked into the room where I was asked several questions by the nurse. Then Dr. Kumar entered the examining room and introduced himself. I told him what I was there for. He explained that he would be sending me to another office to have the procedure. And proceeded to hand me a piece of paper with names of surgeons he suggested. I was in the office for no more than 10 minutes, MAYBE! Never came closer than 3 feet. Never even looked at the cysts. Shameful! Turns out his top pick of surgeon did the same thing to me. Talked me right out of the procedure. Was in the office for less than 10 minutes. Still took my copay and charged my insurance for an office visit. Horrible! After many days of deciding what to do next I called Surgical Associates who was next on his list. Well I am so sorry I wasted my time and money with Dr. Kumar and Dr. Walko. Dr. Loosmann was fantastic! Everyone was so nice and professional. I walked into the office where the nurse immediately approached me and examined my head. After a short discussion Dr. Loosmann entered the room and within 40 minutes the procedure was done. She was personable, professional and gentle. I suggest that Dr. Kumar put Surgical Associates at the top of his list!
I made an appointment and went in the office to check the moles on my body. The doctor took less than 5 minutes in and out, just said couple of sentences and took a brief look. It cost about $103 after insurance However, I went to another dermatologist office afterwards for 2 visits and have the mole excision, the exam result came back and discovered the mole has normal cells. Luckily it all got removed. And these two visits (including the procedure and followup) cost ~$200. I was disappointed that mostly not on the cost, but it is the attitude of taking patients seriously.
