Schweiger Dermatology & Allergy - East Windsor

This place is awesome! Very clean and organized. The staff are very friendly. Our daughter’s dermatology appointment was with Dr. Alexa Hetzel. She was very knowledgeable and informative. She made my daughter (who’s 10) feel very comfortable. Which means a lot because she usually has high anxiety at doctor appointments. Definitely would recommend this clinic.

This practice was recommended by our pediatrician for a bad eczema flare up on my 3 year olds face. When I made the appointment they told me the pediatric dermatologist was booked for weeks but some of their other doctors see children. I chose to schedule the soonest available due to the severity of the redness and scaling on my son’s face. The receptionist was very nice and interacted with my son which was great. She even gave him a bunch of stickers when we left. But our experience with the doctor was basically a waste of time. I’m not sure if he doesn’t like treating children or thought my concerns were not worth a visit but I felt like he just didn’t care at all. He came into the room and had the basic info I had given the nurse. Literally without even looking at my son, he told me to continue the topical steroid my pediatrician gave me for 30 days (we were told 4 days max when prescribed). I started to ask some questions and try to give a more detailed history of my son’s eczema but he just didn’t seem to care to answer my questions and I felt like he just blew me off by giving me short or one word answers . After a brief discussion, he said just continue the medication and schedule a recheck in 3 weeks, stood up and walked out. Didn’t ask if I had more questions or concerns. Never touched my son and barely looked at him. I left feeling like I had no answers or explanations. For a specialist I would have hoped to leave with a better understanding of my sons condition and how to treat and prevent future flare ups. The appointment was a waste of time and I’d never recommend this doctor to anyone.

The doctor was very quick in diagnosing my condition, but I feel he did not spend enough time with me. I had other issues and concerns, but I didn’t get a chance to discuss them with him. He left the exam room quickly.

Dr Nieves is great , staff is nice and is supportive when you are there. Would of been 5stars if there was some urgency to help a patient who calls or if they even cared . Ever since they combined with scheweger the calls and appointments have taken a hit really bad. So if your good just going to see a dermatologist and not have any in-between appointments support . This is the place for you.

Doctor was very nice, understanding, and thorough. Also, the young man with brown hair at the front desk who checked me in was beyond patient with me when he didn’t have to be (it was my mistakes). I was having issues with insurance and payment, and he was so patient and understanding when he could’ve just denied me. I hope he gets some recognition for his work, He deserves it!
