Schweiger Dermatology Group - Hoboken

I had high hopes for my first dermatology visit at Schweiger Dermatology Group, and while the administrative staff was kind and the atmosphere was pleasant, that’s where the positive experience ended. This was my first time seeing a dermatologist, and I had a few concerns I wanted to address. However, before even speaking with the doctor, I had to repeat my concerns to two different assistants. Then, for the third time, I had to go over everything again with Todd Newman. From the start, he was cold, dismissive, and showed no empathy toward the issues I brought up. Rather than engaging in a conversation to understand my concerns, I felt like I had to pull information out of him just to get any kind of diagnosis. He rarely even looked at the areas I pointed out and didn’t ask any questions to gain a better understanding. If I hadn’t continuously asked whether anything could be done for each issue, I doubt I would have gotten any meaningful response at all. While I understand that not every doctor’s office operates the same way, this was an uncomfortably unpleasant experience. I left feeling unheard and wary of returning—and if you're looking for thorough, attentive care, you might want to consider other options as well. I hesitate to leave negative reviews, but I feel this experience is worth sharing.

Nicole Colandrea is great and I cannot recommend her enough. From day one, she really looked at my skin and listens to my concerns and feedback. Her solutions have made a huge difference in my skin and she always makes sure that her recommendations are comfortable and doable. If I contact with for any refill requests or questions she gets back to me extremely fast and is always so nice.

Dr Eckhourt was absolutely lovely and had great bedside manner. She explained everything as she went along my screening and her assistant was also very warm and welcoming. Office was clean and I was seen within 10 minutes after my appointment time. My only criticism is the receptionist was quite cold and a little rude. Perhaps just a bad day! Highly recommend this office

I’ve now seen both Nicole and Todd at this location, I highly recommend them both. Super professional, kind and do not rush their patients. Special shoutout to Nicole Colandrea, she is efficient, answers all questions warmly and professionally, and calls to check in and follow up. I get super anxious dealing with all things medical and she really makes an effort to make her patients feel supported.

Beware of This Company. Have spoken to the NJ AG regarding them as there are many BILL REVIEWS on this thread and they are opening an investigation into the Hoboken Office. Please be warned. Anyone else that has had issues regarding bill fraud especially with their insurance, the NJ AG's office asks that you report them. I had a terrible experience with this company and want to warn others. Despite being in-network, they never submitted my claim to my insurance and charged me the full amount for my visit. When I confronted them, they blamed it on a technician's mistake and assured me they would fix it. Two weeks later, they called back saying they couldn’t reach my insurance and that I owed the full amount. I contacted my insurance company directly, and they confirmed no claim had ever been submitted or attempted. The insurance representative provided the office with the necessary contact information to resolve the issue, and the office assured me they would take care of it. Three years later, I received a bill for the full amount. It was clear they had never contacted my insurance or made any attempt to resolve the matter, despite having all the information they needed. Throughout this ordeal, the billing office was rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. I have since involved a lawyer, and they believe there may be elements of insurance fraud involved. We are moving forward with legal action. In my opinion, avoid this company at all costs. Their handling of claims and customer service has been appalling.
