I want to share my experience with this dermatologist, particularly since my cousin recently asked for a referral to her. My advice was simple: please don’t go to her. Here's why: I specifically scheduled an appointment with this African American female dermatologist because I had been struggling with scalp issues for years. After many consultations with other dermatologists who seemed unable to address my unique hair texture, I was hopeful that she would be different. However, that was not the case. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was placed in a room and greeted by the doctor's assistant, who informed me that the doctor wouldn’t be able to see me that day. Instead, I had to see her. There was no option given for me to reschedule with the doctor, so I decided to give the assistant a chance. During the consultation, I explained that water-based products do not work well for my hair. The assistant mentioned that they made their own products and once had an oil-based option, but due to a manufacturing issue, they were in search of a new supplier. To my disappointment, she did not conduct any tests; she merely examined my scalp and insisted that I purchase their shampoo from the front desk. There was no offer of prescription options, which I found odd and concerning. When I inquired about the cost of the shampoo, the front desk staff appeared irritated, and I was shocked to learn it was between $50 and $75 for a mere 4 oz bottle with their company logo. Fast forward to a few years later, I finally found another dermatologist based on positive reviews. From that visit, I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis. The condition was severe enough that I required medication injections directly into my scalp due to inflammation. Moreover, I received two prescriptions—a shampoo and topical drops—for a total cost of $0. While it’s commendable that the owner of this practice is African American, I noticed that the rest of the staff did not share this background. Given my experience, I can not recommend this dermatologist. My journey to finally receiving effective treatment has shown me that there are certainly better options out there. I don't know if you guys may have stopped selling this product with your company logo on it, but I am not a liar and only stated what I went through at your office.

I've been a patient of Image Dermatology about 3 1/2 years and from the beginning the staff has been great. Meagan and Dr Downie are professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the work they do. They take their time answering your questions you don't feel like you are being rushed out the door. I have been very pleased with the services they have provided me and they don't try to sell or push service's on your that you don't need. Dr. Downie has been a lifesaver for my family. As dermatology issues arise for me and my kids, she has been immediately responsive and kind. Even my shy and self-conscious teenage daughters immediately felt connected to and reassured by her. The products and services she has provided have all been top-notch and more than met our needs. Her laser treatment of a hemangioma on my oldest child's lip was nothing short of a miracle. After just a few visits, Dr. Downie managed to reduce the growth to nothing, and there is no scar to speak of. It was a situation that could have gone very differently with another doctor. Dr. Downie also quickly identified a pre-cancerous mole on my youngest child that she was able to remove before it progressed. We will never switch practices because we have found the best. Dr. Downie is an expert in her field who stays on top of the research (because she is also doing the research!). However, her office staff is also efficient, responsive, and friendly, and the office itself is refined and comfortable. I have seen very little staff turnover in the many years we have been going there. I am grateful to have found this practice through word of mouth.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Downie for years and when I tell you my skin hasn’t been this clear & refreshed since I was a child! The facial products she recommends keeps my skin from aging & always hydrated. The staff are extremely pleasant & helpful, also very accommodating whenever I’m stuck in traffic.
