I had an office visit one week ago, the doctor recognized the mark on my face and asked how I got it, I said I woke up with it, he looked at it and said I should be fine. It’s been one week later and the mark has gotten so much worse. The mark on my face is ring worm and it spread more on my face and hand. I called into the office, emailed and sent photos as well and they wanted me to come in to look at it. I said that was fine but I am not paying another $35 co-pay because this should have been taken care of when I was there one week prior and we discussed the issue. They said there was nothing they could do for me about the $35 co-pay and that I would have to pay it again. They would not prescribe me anything unless I came in for the doctor to look at it again. Please see below invoice from my visit 7 days ago. For some reason google does not allow me to respond to the provider’s comment listed below so I wanted to show proof the visit was one week ago, I am not sure what the doctor is talking about below. I would have gladly returned for the issue but I made it very transparent I did not want to pay a second copay as I was seen at the office 7 days prior. When I had originally reached out about this issue it was actually 5 days after my original visit. I have no email replies from them and when advise to take over the counter mediation I had replied and advised I was already taking it (photo is below of what I was advised to buy). I was able to see my primary care office for free and they took care of the issue right away. I do not recommend going here. And the attitude listed from the doctor below is unacceptable. Maybe you need to get your system fixed as I was not there three weeks ago, the attached invoice from your office will indicate that.
My kids have been patients at Alta Derm for several years. After my insurance changed, I asked if they were still in-network, and they confirmed they accepted my new plan, so I didn't need to find another provider. However, a few months later, I received a bill for my daughter's visits, claiming they were not in-network. Melanie assured me she would cover the balance based on what my insurance would have paid if we were in-network, and she made adjustments on my invoices. There were three visits during that period, so I ended up with three separate bills. I explained that, had we been in-network, the entire bill would have been covered. Melanie didn’t believe me, so she called my insurance provider for confirmation. My provider confirmed that if we were in-network, the visits would have been fully covered. Now, Melanie is saying she can't adjust the invoices. I tried reaching out again, explaining that I work in a medical office and that visits could be voided to reset my balance to zero. However, the billing department insists there’s no way to adjust the charges on my three invoices. It’s incredibly frustrating that, despite the business they've made off my family, they are refusing to correct the invoices when it was their mistake in initially telling me they were in-network. If we had known they weren't in-network, we never would have gone there, as the whole point was to ensure we would be fully covered. Now, Melanie is avoiding my calls, and I'm receiving constant reminders about the balance, which is completely unacceptable. I would strongly reconsider coming here, as it’s clear they only care about their profits, not their patients.
Dr Finkelstein and his staff are absolutely phenomenal. They are very professional and friendly, and he is extremely skilled and thorough. Cannot say enough about how painless my procedure was, as Dr removed a rather large cyst from just above my eye. We were done in less than and hour, and was painless. He is a consummate professional, and his staff members are terrific. I hope people will read past any negative reviews, because I personally had nothing less than a stellar experience with this office. I don’t see where these other reviews are coming from, because even talking with several patients while in the waiting room, all spoke very highly of these folks.
Had my second appt today. I didn’t wait long at all. I was brought back to do cryotherapy for something I had removed that came back precancerous. The Dr made me feel so comfortable. Even though I don’t do well with pain. After the procedure we had a very nice conversation. I will recommended by my family and I will definitely recommend him to my friends.
I took my 30 yr old disabled daughter to see Dr. Finklestein for excema and the Doctor and the staff could not have been nicer. They treated her well, explained the course of treatment, calmed her fears etc. It was a great experience!!
