Approximately a decade ago, I visited Dr. Lauren Chavez at ClearWaves (formerly located on Juan Tabo) for laser treatments to address mild acne. Unfortunately, this decision became the biggest regret of my life. After my first treatment I experienced severe breakouts. The clinic staff repeatedly assured me this was normal so I continued trusting their advice despite my worsening condition. With each session my skin became increasingly red and painful, developing large cystic acne. When I raised concerns again, Dr. Chavez decided to combine two different lasers into a single session. This drastically worsened my condition, leaving me with extreme pain and quarter-sized nodules that persisted for years. It was deeply humiliating and caused me significant emotional distress. I never came back for my final pre-paid session, and the clinic never followed up with me on my worsening condition. Now, a decade later, I still live with permanent skin damage, scarring, extreme sensitivity, and deep regret. While I understand that cosmetic treatments like these come with certain risks, I feel the doctor and staff misled me and continued harmful procedures even after I repeatedly voiced concerns. I spent a considerable amount of money only to have my skin irreparably damaged. I wouldn’t wish my experience on anyone.

I'm currently in the process of having a large tattoo removed. I've had two sessions so far and I've been really impressed with the results. Dr. Chavez and Hannah have been amazing throughout the process, providing exceptional care. The treatment does cause some discomfort, especially since it's on my hip, but the sessions are quick and I feel at ease with Hannah and Dr. C. In my opinion, the results are definitely worth the temporary pain. I'm looking forward to scheduling my next appointment.

My experience at ClearWaves has been amazing. I went to ClearWaves to get a cover up tattoo removed. The part of my tattoo that I'm removing is a cover up with layers and layers of ink. They were able to treat the area I wanted without affecting the surrounding tattoo's. I saw incredible results after just one treatment and it keeps progressing every time I go. They have far surpassed my expectations. I have been to three treatments and the staff is so nice and welcoming they always have a smile on they're faces. Dr. Lauren Chavez is incredibly kind and caring. Whenever I email her a question she always responds within a timely manner which makes me feel like they really care. Im still going in for more treatments and also plan to get another tattoo removed because I'm so happy with the progress of this one. I get the feeling they genuinely care and I feel like I'm in good hands. Thank you so much Dr. Lauren Chavez and staff!!

Amazing! The staff was upfront about expectations and did not sugar coat the healing process. Pricing was very reasonable and everybody at Clear Waves I interacted with was friendly. I would definitely recommended Clear Waves for tattoo removal. The pictures below are after only one session!

This is by far the best experience I've had after several lazer tattoo removal services at different places. It usually takes me about a year to work up the courage for the next session as it has been very painful at other places.The pain was very limited if any at all i was amazed that i barely felt anything at all. The Dr and her assistant made me feel very comfortable as I was feeling very uneasy and dreading the appointment because of past experiences. I have now found the place I will continue on the rest of my tattoo removing journey and look forward to my next appointment.
