i had a revision to my original tummy tuck last Monday and cannot say enough good things about dr Koch. I originally went into his office last November and was extremely nervous about things. I had lost a lot of weight a while back and the excess skin on my stomach was always something I wanted removed but the timing was never right. The initial visit he went over in great detail the process and reassured me the results I wanted were possible. January 2024 I had my tummy tuck breast lift and reduction.. The results were amazing with him having removed 12lbs of skin from my stomach but they were not perfect. He instantly acknowledged the results weren't up to par and explained to me medically it was a blood supply issue. He promised me he would fix it and told me I just had to let my body heal. He continued to monitor my recovery and finally was able to finish up what he started.. I'm a few days out and extremely swollen but the results are unbelievable.. From where I was to where I am I can't even believe it.. He is a miracle worker and such a nice person. Dr Koch didn't just help me achieve my dreams of a flat tummy but helped me finally reach a goal Iv had for myself for the past 17 years. I cannot recommend him enough for cosmetic procedures. Even his staff is friendly, helpful and amazing, I could not have asked for a better experience!
Dr. Koch was the plastic surgeon who performed my breast reconstruction surgery at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital the time of my mastectomy. The reconstructive surgery failed, and while I know every surgery is not a success, my experience with Dr. Koch and his office was not a good one. During the 3 months between the initial reconstructive surgery and the expander removal (due to opening of the incision) Dr. Koch did not show concern for me or share with me that the reconstruction may be failing, yet he did not appear the least bit surprised when it did. It was only a year later when speaking to the head of breast surgery at New York Presbyterian that I was told I had skin necrosis. I wish Dr. Koch or his staff had tried and/or discussed things like nutrition and activity level, and interventions like an oxygen chamber or a wound vac. If Dr. Koch and his staff had shown more concern and shared more information with me throughout those 3 months, I may have had a clue that a failure was a possibility and been more prepared. Even after Dr. Koch removed the tissue expander, when I went to his office for a follow up visit (hoping that while performing the expander removal surgery he would have gathered some information about why the surgery had failed) he simply told me that what had happened was "normal" and walked out of the exam room. That was just one of multiple times I was left feeling shocked and totally disregarded at Dr. Koch's office. I do not think Dr. Koch and his staff have the skills to work with women who have been diagnosed with cancer.
I met Dr. Koch after a tragic rock climbing fall that resulted in 10 surgeries over a 3 week period. Dr. Koch was kind and caring; an incredibly empathetic listener. Understanding my need to return to sport he used his microvascular skills to cover the dead tissue area with a fee flap that healed functionally and beautifully. For a woman who was once asked to consider amputation, I am proud to say that I have both legs and am once again climbing. Dr. Koch is a rare breed of surgeon whose caring is matched with his talent. How lucky I am.
I was so nervous about getting a breast reduction but when I met Dr. Koch I was confident that he would do a great job. I am beyond thrilled and can’t believe how much better I feel about myself. It’s tremendous. I can’t thank him enough for his beautiful work and making me feel so much more comfortable in my own skin.
