Google should allow for a 10 star review because 5 doesn’t seem like enough. My experience with Dr. Tanna and his team far, and I mean far, exceeded my expectations. As a 39 year old ovarian cancer survivor and BRCA patient, I was incredibly anxious to get a risk reducing prophylactic double mastectomy and reconstruction to avoid breast cancer. I knew it needed to happen, but I had already been through so much and the thought of losing my last bit of femininity and aesthetic appearance was heart breaking. I searched and researched for an option that I would be content with, and would’ve settled for mediocre, but what I ended up with was phenomenal. From my first telehealth appointment with Dr. Tanna and his amazing NP Emily, I was completely convinced that it made sense to fly across the entire North American continent from Alaska to New York to see this surgeon. From there, Ms. Candice Lara worked with me to coordinate every detail, and ensured my in person pre-surgical consultation and imaging appointments went without a hitch. She’s literally a dream to work with as a patient, kind, funny, sharp, responsive, and efficient. Arriving in NY from the pre-surgical appointments with Dr. Tanna and his partners Dr. Susan Palleschi and Dr. Smith, then touring the spacious and beautiful Katz Women’s Surgical Center at Glen Cove Hospital, meeting nurse navigators Liz and Doreen, I felt like I was some sort of VIP. The office visit felt almost like I was at a fancy spa. The simple touches of the soft decor, nice white robes instead of hospital gowns, and their smiling faces make you extremely comfortable in what would normally feel like an awkward situation. When surgery day came, after a final joyful meeting with Dr. T and Dr. P and Emily, I was rolled into the OR and drifted off for an entire day on the table while they methodically performed a prophylactic double mastectomy with a hybrid reconstruction using a small implant and a diep flap including a nerve grafting. I had expected to receive a great result, so as I woke up in my recovery room I couldn’t wait to see the results immediately. I was shocked to see that aside from the remnants of marker on my breasts and the incisions on my belly, that it looked absolutely perfect, everything I had hoped and more. I am still shocked and probably will be for a long time! Surgical perfection, extreme attention to detail, empathetic and comprehensive care is what I received. During the 3 consecutive weeks I spent in and out of the hospital for my recovery I received continuous comprehensive care. From a wedge pillow, to mastectomy bras, to home nurses checking on me, and more I am SO incredibly and deeply grateful for this experience and the outcome of this surgery. Something I was previously anxiety ridden and terrified of doing is now behind me and left me with nothing but gratitude and a desire to tell the world about Team Tanna.

Dr. Neil Tanna has a great bedside manner. For my first surgery, he made me feel extremely comfortable and trusting. He was available as needed when I had concerns. He did a great job with my incision. I am only a few weeks post-op and already my incision looks great. He remembered key things about my concerns, such as a scar for my upcoming wedding. He did an amazing job showing his care for myself and my concerns.

My experience with Dr. Tanna and his staff was nothing short of extraordinary. From booking my initial consultation, to taking my final results pictures everyone was incredibly attentive, professional and most importantly always made me feel comfortable. No matter who I spoke to from the office it always felt like my time was important and like I was a person rather than just another number. Dr. Tanna is very honest and personable. He was very transparent about the procedure, the recovery, the final result and always set realistic expectations. He ensured I was comfortable and well prepared throughout the entire process. It's obvious that he cares about his patients and his work a great deal. I vetted multiple different surgeons across Long Island and am very happy that I found Dr. Tanna. Even though I lived an hour away from the office - which he was very considerate of - I would trust him and his team to provide excellent service and results every time for any of my cosmetic procedure needs.

I feel so blessed that I found Dr. Tanna. Going through breast cancer and reconstruction is never an easy thing, but Dr. Tanna and his team always made me feel heard and cared for. They were always available by phone & text and made me feel like their top priority and always took the time to address my concerns. Although my surgery was more involved than most, I never doubted that I was in the best hands possible! I cannot recommend Dr. Tanna enough!! and a special shout out to Candace!

The best of the best!! I had a prophylactic masectomy and reconstruction (diep flap) with Dr. Tanna. He is absolutely amazing, as is his whole team. Dr. Tanna and his team are efficient, available and have a great bedside manner. And honestly, he gave me a great silver lining because cosmetically I'm very pleased. Both of my physical therapists told me that they instantly know when they are looking at a "Tanna Patient" because the results are a cut above the rest. I'm grateful for him, Alexa, Emily- the whole gang!
