I’m a big fan of Dr Friedman as he’s a first class dermatologist. I was referred to him a couple of years ago by a colleague. And have never regretted making the switch. His surgery is always really busy but runs like clockwork. Always make an appointment here as he doesn’t facilitate walk-ins. Update 09/23/22 Leaving a message on Monday morning requesting a call to set up an appointment….I never got a call back. This morning I called again and was greeted in a rather dismissive manner by a receptionist who sounded like she really couldn’t care less. No apologies….she went on to state that she could set up an appointment in November. I asked if there was anything sooner…..she told me I would have to take that appointment and see if they had a cancellation. Dr Friedman is wonderful…..but I expect people in reception to treat me like they are somewhat interested in me as a patient….and at the very least return my call.
I’ve been going to Dr. Friedman for a long time, as did my mother. I highly recommend him. His office staff is also very efficient and friendly
Dr. Friedman and staff were excellent except one staff, Erika, one who takes the patients to the exam room. Looks like she doesn’t like the work she is doing. Very bossy and had attitude. She thinks that she is a partner physician or nurse. I would recommend that she should find another that makes her feel happy. Costco, Stop& Shop and Shoprite is hiring.
Update: Had to go for a second opinion and what Dr Friedman said was “milia” actually turned out to be a wart. He would have known that had he physically examined my loved one instead of doing a visual inspection with your arms behind your back. (So frustrating) As a caregiver bringing my loved one, who is in a wheelchair, to see Dr. Friedman, I found the overall experience lacking in situational awareness and empathy, particularly when dealing with handicapped patients and their families. Upon arriving at the clinic, it was disheartening to note that none of the staff offered assistance, despite the need to transfer my loved one onto the examination table. We were ushered into the room, asked a few questions, and then left to handle the situation on our own. This lack of support stands in stark contrast to the experiences we have had at other medical offices, where the staff routinely extends a helping hand. Dr. Friedman's approach during the examination further added to our disappointment. The visual examination was conducted without the use of gloves, and there was a noticeable absence of physical inspection. In comparison to my own experiences with dermatologists, where a more thorough examination was undertaken with the use of gloves and a greater sense of attentiveness, Dr. Friedman's approach felt dismissive. A critical moment during the appointment highlighted the lack of situational awareness. When the need arose to turn my loved one to facilitate examination, I had to manage this on my own. Instead of offering assistance, Dr. Friedman briefly excused himself, stating he would be right back to check on other patients. This lack of willingness to provide support and the evident reluctance to physically engage with my loved one left a lasting impression of indifference. In conclusion, I must express my concern that the overall atmosphere seemed geared towards a quick turnover of patients, with little regard for the individualized care that is essential for patients with specific needs. Regrettably, this experience has led me to reconsider continuing care at your clinic, and I will be exploring alternative dermatologists for future visits. I trust that this feedback will be taken constructively, and I hope improvements can be made to enhance the patient experience for those with unique requirements.
Dr Friedman is a very good dermatologist with a professional supporting staff. Wait time isn't very long (usually).
