My wife and I visited SDMG over the weekend for some x-rays, and we had a great experience from start to finish. The check-in process at the front desk was smooth, and the wait time was minimal. On the weekend (and possibly all the time), they have a central location for checking in for urgent care, radiology, and other services. For a Sunday, the place wasn’t too busy, which made for a pleasant experience. After moving to the radiology waiting area, we were greeted by Erica, the radiology technician. She was cheerful and personable, immediately making us feel at ease. We waited about 10-15 minutes, which was understandable as an urgent care patient needed a scan and took priority (rightfully so). When it was our turn, Erica called us back together. Her hospitality and positive attitude truly made our visit enjoyable. She thoroughly explained everything she was doing as she went along, and we shared several laughs during the process. It’s refreshing to encounter someone like Erica, and we really appreciated her making our visit so pleasant.

Went to Google to see hours for tomorrow and saw all these bad reviews. Not sure where the bad reviews come from. I see Amela Thompson, Jameel H Arastu, & Austin Perry and have never had a problem. I use the email messaging for all three often and almost always get a response within a few hours. It is to be expected when registering as a new patient it’ll take time to be seen due to the shortage of good medical care in our area. The lab technicians are always nice as well(including to my children). The only department I have had a problem with is pediatrics, they don’t do same day sick appointments(well didn’t 3 years ago, not sure now) which I feel is essential with young children. However their adult care is the best in the area in my experience.

Absolutely the worst. Took over three weeks to get them to do a prior authorization. By do I mean simply start it with the insurance. Now my wife will run out of her vital medication before the PA is even reviewed. Never answer phone always voicemail and they NEVER return calls. Avoid Slocum Dickson at all costs. Better off with local undertaker.

Administration has absolutely no respect for their own doctors OR their own staff let alone their patients. All the commercials on the planet cannot do any good to save their reputation now. The physicians that are competent, caring and well respected by this community will continue to leave one by one, by their OWN choice due to the horrible politics, while the staff that really care about the practices and the patients are let go or forced to make the decision to leave on their own for ethical reasons. How sad to see such a once well run medical group run itself into the ground.

October 1 I had a new patient appt with razia. She was incredibly inquisitive, took what I thought was a thorough family history and assured me she'd be getting to the bottom of my 20+ years of iron deficiency anemia. 7 of October she had me scheduled for an iron infusion as my levels are "almost undetectable" but I found out in between appts I'm pregnant. I'm currently 6 weeks and informed her as such and she completely ignored all my previous issues. She completely changed her tone, attitude and demeanor and has decided that it's all pregnancy related and cancelled my infusion put me on a supplement I told her I cannot stomach due to 20+ years of GERD and a genetic kidney disease but none of that matter. She asked me what I'm having when I said I don't have any idea I'm only 6 weeks, she said oh your second? To which I had to clarify that NO this is my FOURTH child FIFTH pregnancy. Then she said what kind of children I have and was WRONG and I had to correct her. She then went on over and over about the cost of infusion refusing to listen that I have an employer paid hra card and do not care about cost. 3/4 times I had to tell her cost is of no concern. She then said it would be cheaper and easier to try an oral supplement for 30 days and sent in a script. I DO NOT NEED A DOCTOR TELLING ME WHAT MY BILL IS I NEED A DOCTOR TO BE A DOCTOR. Belittling and putting me down as nothing more than an incubator for a fetus that's barely 6 weeks is ridiculous. I left in tears completely distraught because someone who showed so much care a week before doesn't give a single crap now because "pregnant". I'll be calling my OBgyn and most likely changing hematologists.
