Skin Station, Forest Ave

I called ahead to skin station to acquire about one of their facial services. I was told by the person on the phone to come in for a consultation to assess my skin. I drive quite some distance btw. When I got there, I rang the doorbell no answer. I called again and she told me she ran out of the store but would be back soon. No problem, I waited in my car. When I tried again, I was let in by an older Asian woman who asked me if I had an appointment. I said no but was told I could do a walk in for a consultation. She said we are so busy now so you have to make an appointment. To which I realized that maybe she was not the person I spoke to on the phone so I explained that there was no place to book a consultation so I was told to come in. She told me to sit down and she’ll be with me. Not even 3 minutes later she told me it’s so busy. I said no problem as I could see two other woman came out to “see” who I was and went back into their rooms without saying a word. I politely asked when would be a better time or day to come back as I see they are indeed busy. To which I was told “I don’t know”. I stood there confused and immediately felt uncomfortable and she stood there looking at me until I literally left out of sheer awkwardness. I’m obviously not here to comment on the quality of their facial services. But the customer service was very unwelcoming and felt prejudiced as the only difference between me being told to come for a consultation over the phone and me showing up in person was literally that they could “see” me. I will not attempt to patron this place again. What a rude and unprofessional first encounter.

They are the best. Staff is super professional, polite and the business is always spot clean with a tranquil environment. If you don't know Darren is the best for your skin needs with care and products. He does the best 3D eyebrows on Staten Island. I would never go anywhere else. Tell them Keta sent you 😉

The reason why I’m rating them a two is not because of their services. It’s because of their rules and regulations how dare them charge anybody $25 because they need to cancel or they need to reschedule. I think that’s pathetic anyway they can make money shame on them. I’ve been using this company for over 25 years. I will go elsewhere. They need to change their rules not even dr do this

I love this place! I've been here a few times over the last few years, and my mother-in-law has a package with them. I usually do their facials, and I've also done massages. Every person I've encountered is very friendly, and the services are great as well. They're very reasonably priced compared to other places. Their waiting area has comfortable seating, as well as tea and hot water. Their bathroom is also very clean. I read some other reviews where they felt like the products were pushed on to them. I was there two days ago and no one even asked if I was interested in a product. However, another customer asked a few questions about one product, and the employee went through a few products and their purposes / ingredients so the customer could make an educated purchase. I assume that's what the other reviews are talking about, and maybe they didn't enjoy receiving more information than they asked for.

Good place for routine facials. Clean and friendly staff. They often have promotions.
