Good doctors, but the office staff, which is most likely the doctors/owners fault are incredibly overworked I’d guess. Never ever return calls, never ever call to let you know test results. They cancelled an appointment that I made a year I’m advance via text, had me call to reschedule, and never called back. Unprecedented amount of communication, and with your health you just can’t have it. Once I had to physically go in to make an appointment. Honestly worst doctor experience I’ve ever had. Thought maybe they were understaffed, but I’ve give up after two years of just horrendous service. Horrendous.
They tried to bill me for a service I did not receive. Their new nurse practitioner had someone else call me to tell me to change my dosage of a blood thinner even though I'd never even seen the nurse practitioner and that person had no idea about how my medications were handled. After I transferred to another medical practice, they refused to send my medical records until I got the state Medical Board involved.
I was scheduled for an appointment on November 22 at 2:00 p.m. Drove up from Hickory where I'm staying waiting on house repairs only to find there office closes at 12:00. I have also been calling and leaving messages to schedule a follow-up appt. with Dr. WOLF for 2 weeks without a return call
I've been a patient for a few years now and I really like Brenda Fore. She gives great care, sound medical advice, and has a no nonsense approach to healthcare. However, similar to the other reviews, this practice has serious issues with the phone/getting in touch with patients. First off, you will never get someone to pick up the phone. I don't even think their phone system is set up to answer incoming calls. You will always be leaving a voicemail and waiting for someone to call you back. I think that's bizarre but wouldn't mind it if someone actually returned my call. In the last 3 weeks I've left 6 or 7 voicemails in all different buckets and not one call has been returned. I have billing questions, questions for my provider on lab results, and a scheduling issue all going unresponded. This has been my consistent experience as a patient over the last few years. When my annual visit comes around the corner I now know I will be calling these people repeatedly in order to get things moving along. I don't see the point in continuing as a patient if the practice is completely unresponsive. I will not be returning as a patient.
We have really appreciated the level of care we have received at East Asheville. Brenda Fore is awesome. She and her staff have become like family. The only persistent problem has been that you often have to call several times before someone answers. That inconvenience, however, does not diminish the quality of care there.
