Abington Dermatology - Jenkintown

I've been a patient here for 20 years. Called three times this summer to book an appointment with the new female provider. Each time, I was told that her calendar hadn't opened yet. Called today - September 25 - and was told they will only do skin checks between the hours of 8 and 2 Monday - Thursday. Those hours are not equitable for people who have jobs. Who can take off from work for a 10 minute skin check?

I’ve been a patient for years, second time they have cancelled my appointment and then offer an appointment six months out from the appointment they cancelled. Also lots of turnover with the doctors.

Referred here by Abington ER. I tried to schedule an appointment, spoke with Donna who told me they aren’t accepting new patients and immediately hung up on me. When I called back I was told they would not refer any other dermatologists, that I should just Google it. Rude, and not very personable!

An Insurance or Medical BUSINESS Entity has taken over this practice. I was with one Doctor here for about 20 years. COVID, two different surgeries, rehab, etc. Called today to get back to my regular checks and was told by the office I am considered a new patient? I liked this particular Dr and can't believe on a personal level this doctor would turn down a patient even if it has been a few years since I've been there. If not a medical practice is this a good business practice, to turn down repeat clients. No other reason(s) provided just only time. Do the individual doctors know what is going on? Why don't the Doctors run their own practice and not fall in lockstep with the insurance industry. I do not recommend this practice, as a patient you WILL NOT BE a priority, imo. IMPORTANT NOTE: I was not paid for this review. Funny that this practice only replies to 5-star reviews which clearly indicates to me that they paid for those reviews or there would be more 2, 3, 4 star reviews. Patient beware.

Unfortunately it is a shame that the person they have as a receptionist today I called to make made an appointment for my mom since her English is not that perfect, and the woman who took the call told me that she was not interested in receiving new patients. I really don't know what to think of this person. Maybe her boss doesn't even know how this receptionist treats clients, or maybe he knows that's why she has a 3.5 rating.
