I have had a doctors office make me feel as unimportant as their staff did. When I scheduled the appointment it was pleasant right up until I was at the appointment. While the practitioner was nice, she was hesitant to submit a claim to my insurance . After discussing with the doctor to just see what happens and submit the claim- it did end up being denied. I called my insurance and they gave me instructions on a peer to peer that a doctor could advocate on my behalf. I called the surgery scheduler with this information, left a voicemail- never returned my call. I sent her a message - no returned response after two tries. I then contracted the practitioner and was told they are working on scheduling the peer to peer and will give me an update. After two weeks on no response I called the office manager. He called me back two days later and was in a rush to get off the phone that he literally hung up while I was still talking. He claimed the insurance company never called but the insurance states they tried calling two days in a row with no answer or returned phone call. Not only do I have to be upset with my issue that I struggle with and that they could have advocated on my behalf - instead there was no communication when they just could have said they were not interested in taking this issue on and wasted my time and made me feel terrible.
Dr. D'Agostino and her team from her office to the surgery center were amazing. I’m very happy with my results. She gave me exactly what I wanted and more. She is very honest about what she can do for you. So if you decide to see her be open to her opinions. She wants what’s best for her patients and will deliver in a safe manner. Dr. D 'Agostino truly has a gift. I was in good hands. Thank you, Virginia L.
I recently had surgery with Dr Lu. I going to assume that some who have had this particular surgery may not want to disclose the type of procedure, but I feel this is an important part of my review. I had breast reduction surgery. From the first office visit with Dr Lu's assistant, Jenna, and every subsequent visit, I was met with wisdom, compassion and top knotch care. The surgery results could not be any better. My back and shoulder pain are gone. I have better balance and feel better than I have in years. My only regret is that I didn't decide to do it earlier! If you are in a similiar situation, don't suffer, live you life pain free now! I Youll be in great hands with Dr Lu!
Edit: Darcy may be the incorrect name, I had 4 different appointments that day, but I am CERTAIN that Amie was the woman who tried to coerce me. I had to visit this office under unfortunate circumstances, my appointment was medically necessary and not by choice. Already feeling stress and concern for my health, I was appalled at the way staff treated me. Darcy checked me in, and handed me a form to sign, as if it was routine. Upon reading the form, it was an optional release for UPMC marketing to photograph, record and interview me, as well as my providers a.d use it in advertisements. I politely said no thank you and gave her the form back. She shot an incredulous look to the other woman at the desk. Then Amie called me back to prepare for my visit with the doctor. Darcy and Amie shared a hushed exchange and Amie brought the form back to the exam room with us. She then tried to pressure me into signing the form, even going as far as insinuating that if I didn't, the doctor wouldn't be able to add any images to my chart. It was infuriating. I read aloud the sentence that states whether or not I sign the form the care I receive will not be effected. She STILL didn't take no for an answer, and said I could discuss it with the doctor. I feel that I cannot trust anyone in that office. It's a shame that when I am dealing with a new medical concern I have to fight for my voice to be heard by the people who are supposed to be caring for me. Unacceptable.
