The Eye Center of Central PA – Shamokin Dam

Hours are not correct. Also told I could pick up an order today However no one here and the office is closed. Drove over an hour. 100% not acceptable. More than likely once orders are obtained I will not be doing business here. Dr was great. Rest is a hot mess.

Multiple times I have come to pick up glasses during business hours for them to be closed. Phone number takes you to an answering service that is useless and unhelpful (in another city) Multiple times I have asked to be the contact number for my shared custody children when I have them yet they always call their mom. Dr. Hensel was efficient and friendly. The problem must be some of his staff.

Not happy with this place at all! My elderly mother needed glasses and she couldn't afford them as they would've cost her over $500. I decided to buy them for her. $539 to be exact. Fast forward to her getting the glasses a week later. She told me that she doesn't feel comfortable with the frames that she picked out because with the new lenses in they are too heavy and fall off her nose. She went back in to see if they could put the lenses in another frame. So in other words, she wanted to exchange them for something else and they told her there is nothing they can do. Now my 74 year old mother has a pair of expensive glasses that she can't wear!!! You mean to tell me that as much as these glasses cost, they can't offer a refund or exchange?? She even brought in her own pair of glasses to get the new lenses sent out & fitted and was told she couldn't. Every eyeglass facility I have ever been to has at least a 14 day return policy, if not 30 days. I am livid!

I had my first appointment today. It was perfect. I was taken right away. Everyone was nice and friendly. They were very thorough and explained things well. It was just a matter of a few minutes between the preliminary exam and seeing the Dr. I'm really picky and impatient and there was not one thing I can complain about.

They have no set hours. For example this week they were open on Tuesday and Friday and I was waiting to pickup glasses for over a month. I drove by and stopped in because I saw they were open and they said my glasses were there. I called twice to find out where my glasses were previous to this and they said they would check and call back. I never received a call back.
