I had top surgery (trans masculine) with Dr. Peterson at the end of May. As a trans person, entering any medical space is typically very nerve-wracking. I never know if I will be respected in my identity, if I will be referred to correctly, or if the doctor and their team will know how to care for transgender patients. Over the course of the last 6 months, from consult to procedure to recovery, Dr. Peterson has been one of the best providers I have ever had. When I first went to her for my consult, my name was not changed legally, so my name given at birth was on my documents and paperwork. She never once used my old name. At the consult, Dr. Peterson and her PA walked in, said hello, and immediately asked for my chosen name and the pronouns that I use. This made a huge difference right from the beginning, as many providers don't take the time to think through how to best care for and respect their patients. Throughout my treatment and care, Dr. Peterson and her staff consistently referred to me with my correct name and pronouns, they were knowledgeable and educated on working with trans patients, and they made me feel comfortable and safe during every step of the process. Even at the hospital where my procedure was done, Dr. Peterson made sure to tell all of the members of the surgical team about my name and pronouns and I was never once referred to improperly. Dr. Peterson, Eileen, Mallory, and the rest of the office staff provided me with respectful and informed care that honored my dignity as a trans person. On top of all of this, the results from my procedure are incredible. I am so happy with how everything looks and I finally feel comfortable in my body. Dr. Peterson and her team were always willing to address my concerns and ensure that I was recovering well after the procedure. I cannot recommend her office highly enough, and I can't express how grateful I am to have been treated with such care and respect. Thank you so much!

I met with Dr. Emily Peterson, MD to discuss having a tummy tuck and breast reduction. Having had reconstructive surgery in the past, I knew what I was looking for and what I wanted to experience. What I didn't expect was to meet someone as brilliant, humble, compassionate, kind hearted, patient and supportive! From the consultation to each email message I sent, Dr. Peterson and her staff promptly responded to all questions with thorough responses. Dr. Peterson was honest and clearly communicated what she could do for me given my body shape, and current body contouring which I absolutely appreciated. And, after surgery, she far exceeded what my end result would look like. I love looking at myself again and am so happy in the skin I am now in! Concerning Dr. Peterson's staff....First class all the way! From making appointments, to answering questions, greeting at appointments and making themselves available whenever needed, they were absolutely supportive, positive, fun, energetic and super sweet. I'm now two weeks post-op and I cannot say enough how pleased, excited, grateful, inspired and thankful I am with the results. I do recognize that some people complain about not getting what they want. But, it's vital to recognize what your body looks like in present state, and what can be done to help you to become your best self. Dr. Peterson IS the Dr. who can get you there. Dr. Peterson is absolutely amazing! Hands down the best in the area! I drove over an hour to see her for juvederm injections, and it was absolutely worth it! She took the time before the procedure to answer all of my questions and she really put me at ease. The procedure itself was virtually painless and quick, and I am beyond thrilled with the results! She did an amazing job! I will definitely be going back to her again in the future and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic cosmetic/ reconstructive surgeon! She is wonderful!! I consulted with Dr Peterson about explantation of 28 year old silicone breast implants. I expressed my opinion about having Breast Implant Illness as I have been sick for years. At first she did not believe in BII. After seeing me and speaking to me about it, she was more receptive to my condition. I explanted with her on December 16, 2016. Her incisions are immaculate and her manner was professional. I have amazing pictures of the procedure, she tested for cancer and am very pleased with the end result. BII is not widely known or received in the plastic surgery community. Having a PS that will work with you on it is a godsend. 7 months later, I feel 75% better, I have gealed and look good.
